This video was brought to you by Steinberg a better world planner Mr Green Camp power and Marcus Beale Yo what's up we are now in front of the House in chiangdao and behind me here You see mg4 this is the 51 kilowatt hour Lfp version I'm not sure if Euro gets This one but at least I know that the in Norway they get the 64 kilowatt hour Version in this video I'm going to do a Range test we will measure how much we Will measure how much capacity this car Has and also how much it consumes at 90 And 120 kilometers per hour and then Based on this test I can also estimate What the range will be in the 64 Kilowatt hour version so I've charged The car to 100 we're now just in front Of the house here I should get inside The car before I get eaten up by all the Mosquitoes but I think it's this car should be more or Less like you're seeing in Europe so let Me get inside here you see at 100 the Car estimates 425 kilometers hmm Is that any DC or Yeah I'm not sure But okay So let me see 100 I'll also look at this One if you look at energy consumption Here wow The login system man One there

Okay let's see what this means all of This stuff but okay so I will now just Start driving and this could be I would Explain as we go but okay let's just Start driving it's actually in the Evening now and it's 22 degrees Celsius So this should be similar to a typical Summer Day evening in Europe actually Are we on the moon now so um yeah now we Don't care too much about the speed we Are driving because we kind of need to Drive a little bit slower the rotor is a Bit twisty and slow but uh yeah we will Actually start the 90 measurement in Chiang Mai around 75 kilometers from Here but I'll point out something here Which is other people also notice it Which is that you see here We have to set the the climate wall at 26 degrees Celsius and it still feels a Bit cold sometimes they even have to set It to 27 degrees Celsius but then the Auto system here when you said to 27 it Suddenly start blowing cold air towards The feet here so the whole climate Control here in at least an auto is just Really weird But whatever okay I might just go for Some manual control so let's see but now We just have to uh yeah Drive get out of This area so it will take a little while Maybe like an hour And yeah since they asked for this mood Over here we should review the sound

System so I don't know what kind of Sound system this is but uh yeah let's Play okay by the way the Sound Player Here cannot show folders because I have A dedicated folder and a USB stick where I have the the test new stick so I will Only play one track but I think that's Good enough Okay okay let's go It's not very good It lacks the clarity it lacks the detail It it can't sounds kind of muffle I have To say And then wait for the the bass and Everything to come here foreign Below 100 Hertz is non-existing I like Okay I guess there's no subwoof in the Back but even uh even for example Tesla Uh you know the old one like model three SR plus which doesn't have a subwoofer Either Still has some decent bass and also some Other sound system I heard but this one Just There is bass of course there's like a Lower mid base section but And it just Like the stereo The Sound Stage the Stereo perspective is kind of I don't know it's not that detail it's Not that crisp it's not that that great Really so I think that's all we need to say about The sound system it's not good if I

Would give give it a score I'd say maybe A four out of ten yeah All right we're now in Chiang Mai and Yeah so um Interesting is that here from uh from The trip meet here you see that from Chengdao to here according to distance And consumption we have 9.8 kilowatt Hour and then this screen reports that We have spent nine kilowatt hour but it Doesn't have any decimals so I guess Soon it will pop into 10 kilowatt hour All right so the plan now is that we Will drive An ABA route similar to what we usually Do in Norway right so let's say I just Heard a bit so I think I will avoid the Mountain power we'll see how far I go But I'm gonna drive now this way 90 Tests and then back again to the same Place uh hopefully I'll end up on the Other side there roughly yeah whatever And that is a 58 so that's a 116 kilometer Loop and that should be Plenty enough to test 90 tests We are now on the Super Highway cruising At 91 kilometers per hour and that is Actually 90 well it's hovering a little Bit up and down but that's roughly 90 Kilometers per hour GPS speed so yeah Over here we have some concrete roads And it's not as smooth as the concrete Road you find in for example uh Germany But I have to say the suspension does a

Very good good job of soaking up all the The pumps and also you can hear that The sound from this from the Undercarriage has this low frequency hum Yeah which is actually very pleasant to Listen to like it it feels and rides and Sounds actually like a like a German car But it's a Chinese car so I'm really Really impressed of how this car rides Like sometimes almost almost feel like I'm driving a BMV I4 you know okay Probably not really that like but but You know you know just to get give you An impression how it is so right now I'm Using Auto steer and the screen by the Way is really bright I have it on just I've got a lock exposure I'm going to Show you something here if I look Exposure you see how bright it is versus Uh the phone's moving okay if I if I Maybe set this one to Yeah so you you don't see on Overexposed Here but then this one is still Overexposed yeah but okay But we are using Auto stair now mg pilot But it just kind of a shitty job uh Let's see if I can show you here so let Me see let me get over to this Lane Um It tends to lose it especially over a Hill like this let me see if I can uh Yeah let's see okay we're going on over Here let's see if it loses Focus Or not okay okay typically when I want

To demonstrate something it will do it Perfectly because these Chinese cars I Swear they listen to me and if they know That I'm recording a video they will Just do everything perfect But let me show you here if I regen While using cruise control it will show You negative power there but it has this Weird hump where it seems like it kind Of does a combination of regening and Then Pushing the brake pedal also Let me see there no way that now you see That's zero huh what That's kind of weird Yeah I need to slow down for for uh red I mean lead light but it seems like okay So when you when you use cruise control You will actually regen but uh partly And then partly uh physical breaks so in The in the status EV and the other one That also shares the Foster platform it Will actually break and make the car Less efficient this one is I guess Slightly more efficient but not that Efficient But look look here we have a little Curve it's not that sharp really and I'm Driving dog slow it's just 90 kilometers Per hour but look how it slows down in a Curve And then it just loses it it just loses It look at that look at that okay well He's doing the curve that list and look

How slow it drives Whoa It drives like a Toyota driver Holy macaroni this is oh Jesus this is Really bad it's not that twisty over Here you guys see how it's not that Twisty really and the car just refused It to drive much faster than 80 Kilometers per hour uh uh okay but you Know what I've noticed the Thai people They tend to drive dog slowing cars over Here it's not like Germans you know so Uh maybe this car has been programmed Too much time and Chinese people's Driving habits Okay All right let's test what happens if you Don't hold the steering wheel All right All right So far so good Wait how do we have low tire pressure oh It's probably because of low okay please Hold steering wheel all right probably Because we have low temperature outside Okay okay it turns red Alert Red Alert oh it just loses it looks I'm About to hit this oh that is bad okay if You don't hold the steering wheel it Would just disengage all the stair but Still maintain the speed that is the Worst ever if I faint for some reason I Have a heart attack then I just crush

And Burn yeah how about that well Actually this car doesn't burn because It has lfp battery Let's check the weight of the car Okay oh Front axle wait Front axle 860 kilograms right the whole car 1750. wow Impressive All right we are now finished the 90 Tests so let me show you the result I Guess what is important is this one here 154 watt hour per kilometer that is Actually quite High It's more than up to three which is Bigger is more than model Y which is Bigger uh okay I'm not sure why this car Is so thirsty we have to try okay oh no It's because of low tire pressure okay Okay let me show you it's actually not That low that's what she said uh if you Go here you will here you go uh Oh here here so yeah it's supposed to be 36.5 36. I think we're fine yeah okay I'll show Something else kind of funny here okay So you see here So we have this this one shows you uh Like Breaks down on what we spend the energy On uh well it's so tiny by the way let Me zoom in here as you can see what's Going on there so you see since last

Charge so we we have total well also it Says total power consumption It's energy not power yeah Power is Kilowatt energy is kilowatt hour but Anyway so yes we spent 26 kilowatt hour On driving and then one kilowatt hour on AC okay that's France Fair uh and then Since start is when we started the range Test 90 test uh oh okay it's according To this one we have spent nine kilowatt Hour on AC and other consumers and eight Kilowatt on driving Uh Chinese software for the wind And now we'll do roughly a 50 kilometer Loop and we will drive at 120 kilometers Per hour and see how thirsty this car is Well I have to say this car feels Relatively quiet at those speeds uh Soundproofing is good we only have Single glaze window here And well okay we have a fairly nice Dimensional on the tires I guess that Also helps even though we are on Concrete well what the heck with the car Is doing some weird with the Adaptive cruise control here Yeah that's not too bad that's not too Good Yeah and all the beeping also man wow Yeah it's a Chinese car of dolls you Have to deal with all the people by the Way there's also one annoying feature is That every time you start the car it Will beep when there's the close to late

Like the lane departure warning or some uh and then when you disable it Next time you start again it's back yes It's back in the true Spirit of a Chinese software I have to say The high speed any Germans here yeah the High speed the Autos there feels kind of nervous I like It doesn't feel like it it has a steady Course forward like I'm not sure how to It seems like the car is doing some some Slight Corrections left and right so um Unlike a Tesla Tesla will be dead solid At these high speeds So hmm okay well maybe Autos there is Not the strongest point with this car All right we end up here at the charging Station the end station is I mean the Endpoint is not the same as the start But it's close enough and it's Relatively flat over here the Consumption this time was 224 watt hour per kilometer wow that is Relatively high for such a small and Compact car but okay I need to drive it Down to I don't know close to zero Percent so um yeah we need to keep Driving a little bit more okay all right Here we have our scene start we spent 17 Kilowatt hour on AC this one seems to be No wait no no way this one also doesn't Seem to be correct that we spend only One kilowatt hour on on AC and then what

The heck man this this software is so Buggy yeah okay whatever whatever Foreign Some music now I've been hammering it as Actually I found that this uh Highway Around here is quite good because we Have three lanes in each Direction so Yes now I'm just trying to bring the Battery down to almost zero before I go To the Alexa charger to do a charting Test you just want to see how fast this Lfp battery charges according to um uh EV database it's supposed to hit 117 Kilowatt Peak but actually it's only Roughly 85 kilowatts so let's document How fast this one charges I like these Trucks man in Thailand first of all they Are okay maybe not safe that they're Overloaded that high but those lights Under the trucks that's pretty cool you Know okay Europe is very strict but also Safe but over here is a little bit wild Wild west and it makes everything a Little bit more colorful you know Okay we're almost done now look we have Three percent battery left and let's see Down here how much power we have Wow this car is still quite quick 86 Power left oh this is 170 horsepower Maximum so Yeah two percent left yeah lfp Power for The win All right we're here let's look at the Stats

Yeah we are done d-o-n okay so here we Have the distance and two percent left I Will calculate uh how much energy we Have here based on all these numbers and Then here we have well should we trust This uh 48 kilowatt hour okay at least I Show you guys this Where we are turning now getting well The good thing about lfp battery is that The voltage uh has very little variation Which means that we should get over 80 Yeah there we go oh yeah oh yeah But not 117 kilowatt as uh yeah well This is pretty good this is 125 kilowatt Delta charger And it should Supply uh 330 amp which is More than this car can take right now All right let me finish a charting test And now I'm going to look at the result Of the range test so the Charlie test Result will be shown in a different Video but okay so according to my Estimation now the actual test here it Seems like we have 49.5 kilowatt hours That's actually pretty good okay and Yeah so why don't they get the same Result as the claim uh battery capacity In for example the EV database well Because that's nominal capacity whereas Here is actual battery capacity after Some discharging losses So yeah based on these numbers you see Um we can go roughly 320 kilometers it's Not that great but actually this is uh

Similar to stellam these cars they also Have roughly 50 kilowatt hour but then They only have around 45 kilowatt hour Net capacity So uh yeah and then 154 whatever number Is not that great compared to for Example model 3 but then uh I guess this Car is not that efficient maybe because The drug coefficient is uh over 0.27 so That could be the reason why also the 120 test is kind of thirsty So yeah but also um based on this result I can then assume that the 64 kilowatt Hour version in Europe Norway will then Get roughly 60 kilowatt hour net Capacity and that means uh 390 Kilometers of range so that's actually Pretty decent yeah and then okay so and 268 on yeah it's not too bad I guess but By the end of the day I have to test it In Norway it might be winter by the time I get it in Norway will you see how it Goes over there uh of course the big Battery and then we'll also try to test Charging the big battery because it's Supposed to take 140 kilowatt okay we Will see I guess but yeah so this car Okay Uh in Thailand it actually makes a lot Of sense because it's very affordable Here compared to some of the other cars That cost a little bit more or a lot More like Tesla so I think for Thai People this is actually one of the

Better cars in Thailand and compared to Some of the other competitors here like Or a good cat or uh yeah be by the other Three then at least the other three has Been interior this one feels kind of Plastic-ish I don't even have A light here for example is it the whole Interior is kind of basic and sparse but Uh seems like at least the mg they try To focus on what is important which is The driving Dynamics the soundproofing The the suspension and let's not forget Foreign Closing sound You don't get this in the or a good cut Or in many other Chinese cars so I think That's going to be it for now I hope you Guys enjoyed this video as always thank You for watching and talk to you later

Electrifying transportation is a necessary step towards a low-zero carbon society, as well as addressing many other issues associated with energy security and climate change. It facilitates the diversification of fuels used in transportation, reduces GHG emissions, and addresses concerns about the grid and its reliability.

The electric vehicle market, also known as the EV market, is a rapidly growing segment of the automotive industry. It is estimated to make up about 5.5% of the new light-vehicle sales in Q2 2022, with sales expected to increase in the coming years as manufacturers continue introducing new models into the market.

There are four main types of EVs: plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), all-electric vehicles, fuel cell electric vehicles, and hydrogen-powered vehicles. Each type is unique and has its own set of benefits.

PHEVs are ideal for commuting, as they can run on electricity when driving only a short distance, and can use the gasoline engine when the battery runs out. However, they can be frustrating if you need to recharge frequently, as charging can take a long time.

All-electric vehicles, also referred to as battery electric vehicles, use batteries that can be charged at home or at an electricity station. They’re capable of driving up to hundreds of miles on a single charge.

Fuel cell electric vehicles, also referred to as FCEVs, work by chemically combining hydrogen gas from the tank with oxygen from the air to create electricity. They have a range of 300-400 miles and can be refueled in five minutes at hydrogen fueling stations.
