[Music] Yo what's up we are now sitting in the Kia ev6 GT this is the badass Kia the Most brutal Kia we've ever seen so um You know I bought this car to do some Tests like I have 1 000 kilometer Challenge to have some other tests but You know I figured I should try to do Something different like what is special About this car well it goes like a Rocket so that's why I want to take it To terrorist again and I will drive a Trolls ticket with car scanners you can See all the stats and everything so That's what we're gonna do it's actually Uh almost 11 at night now and I want to Get over there and drive there when it's Night well yeah it's going to be it's Really early morning but I don't want Any traffic in front of me so we'll see Then it's actually a long drive there And then when I look at Google I'm not Sure Google reportedly that's closed but When I Google about this on the official Traffic website in Norway starting with It's supposed to be open so I guess we'll see yeah either way we'll Get a nice drive in this Kia through Norway this time not any Swedish Motorway hammering so yeah I'm not sure Now uh battery is nice and warm I'm not Sure where I'm supposed to stop but uh We might stop at ionic a year yeah we Want 800 volts we want three minute

Electricity with this car because it Charges like a boss [Music] Perfect [Music] Foreign [Music] Getting 192 kilowatt wait not 100 around 230 or 220. well it preheated about 20 Minutes before arrival but only to 21 Degrees Celsius you see we have plenty Of battery Uh that's weird Why didn't it the Preheated 25 degrees at least so you can Get the maximum speed Well actually you know what I think the Car chooses too cold it slightly because It's not going to last that long Yeah because I guess if you if you heat It up too much then it will rapid gate We already have 10 degrees Celsius Delta Here between Min and Max but uh 194 Kilowatt I'll take it Okay but anyway we've been driving for Almost two hours and I feel like taking A little uh pee break So we actually have some cars charging Here we have a Citron ec4 and we Actually have a like the brother from Another mother that's another ev6 but That's a regular one this is the beefy One so Um yeah let me get over to Circle K this One is open 24 7.

What I went to restaurant I came back I Saw 230 kilowatt but we only get 59 holy Macaroni listening charges fast so next Stop is going to be uh doombos that's Only 140 kilometers away and we have Uh how much range we have we got 200 Kilometers already so hopefully it will Um it will preheat before the Destination but I'm going to show you You know the okay this is the algorithm It is so complicated how to make it work That the key are printed out two pages For me wait wow two-sided okay Um Three pages about how this work so the Algorithm works like this You must have a battery temperature Below 21 degrees Celsius uh what is it Now uh it's 31 to 41 okay wait what does It mean Minimum amounts I I assume it's the Min Of course because the Min is what Dictates for the Colgate so yeah battery Temperature must be uh under 21 degrees Celsius but we must have stable charge Uh minimum 24 I guess for starting it And then it will stop at 17.5 Um time that needs to heat up the Battery must be shorter than the driving Time to the destination Uh driving distance to destination must Be shorter than the car's remaining Range Uh how to activate the preheating okay

You have to go here and then do it there Okay it shows you and then we have to Set a fast charge as destination Sometimes yeah um Okay actually it says that it might not Be enough to just say I only ghoul as Designation even if it it pops up as Really wait I Navigate to iont Now uh so what you have to do let me Just show you here the following uh yeah They show you what it looks like because You know I guess stuff here is not Intuitive when things are not intuitive You have to write this long uh How to and then it shows you how you Support let me just show your hands then So what we have to do to make sure that It navigates to the Islanders if you Look here It's just ionity okay but what you Must do is you have to go to menu Nearby info POI category point of Interest And then EV charting station And then you choose near destination and Then ionity here shows up and you click This one even though we navigate this Now we see that we have ion the icon and Stuff like this and then you set this One as the donation and then it should Preheat When you get close there Given that we have enough data charge Under the distance whatever okay I think

Wait Is that it Huh 75 from the charger 72 into the battery Well Battery heat wait Is the battery heater not active yet Foreign Which part of this one did I fail to do Here uh let me see Okay this one has been on since I Received the car battery conditioning Mode is on you only have to check it Once and that's it Uh we have plenty of juice the battery Was below 22 21 degrees Celsius This we have more than enough huh I mean If me an EV ninja with OBD2 and and 10 Years of driving experience with Electric cars cannot figure out How to activate the battery heater in a Freaking Kia Then what about regular uses are they Going to figure it out Huh Well I might as well have some night Food so yes we have improve this We have manual seats Manual seat in the beefy version of the Kia all right whatever So yeah here you see salad yes I only Eat healthy food salad all the time on Road trip at home at work

On a bright, windy day, the two big turbines on Vaughn Moser’s hayfield in this small town in upstate New York send carbon-free energy into the vast network of long-distance transmission lines that power the low-emissions electricity grid of the state and its urban utilities. The grid gets a clean charge that will help juice up fleets of sleek electric vehicles destined to replace their gas-guzzling predecessors.

EVs, also known as battery electric vehicles (BEVs) or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), get their energy from the electric grid through a charging station—also called an electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE). Drivers can charge at home, at multifamily housing, in the workplace or at public stations. PHEVs have added flexibility and can be refueled with gasoline or diesel fuel when necessary.

The cost of EVs has been declining rapidly, thanks to tax credits that let buyers of qualifying models get $7,500 rebates, and because manufacturers have invested in the production of critical battery components right here in the US. And in recent years, a new generation of fully-electric vehicles has come to market with longer driving ranges and designs optimized for electric powertrains.

Many companies and organizations are committing to scale up their efforts to accelerate EV adoption. These commitments are creating good jobs in America by bringing back manufacturing for EV batteries, establishing new markets and expanding the availability of EV charging stations. They are enabling companies and consumers to move quickly to take advantage of the benefits of EVs, such as lower costs, cleaner air and greater convenience.
