Tesla Ford GM Power Manufacturing
The world’s largest automaker, General Motors, has long been a pioneer in the electric vehicle (EV) market. Its Ultium battery platform allows it to design a wide range of EV models that can fit into any lifestyle.
GM is also pushing to build out an all-electric fleet. The company plans to increase its EV production by 40 percent by 2030 and 80 percent by 2035.
Honda is making a similar commitment to EVs. Its goal is to have all its sales be zero-emissions by 2040.
Toyota hasn’t yet announced a specific EV plan, but it has a number of hybrids and plug-in models on the way. It also plans to launch its own EV in 2022, with the all-electric EV6 set to be built on the same E-GMP platform as Hyundai’s Ioniq.
Nissan is also building a range of EVs. In fact, the Japanese company has just introduced a battery-powered EV sedan, with an electric SUV and an all-electric truck on the way.

Mayor de Blasio is making a significant investment in EV charging infrastructure across the five boroughs. His plans will help New York City become a national leader in the EV transition. In addition to increasing the city’s fast charging network to over 80 plugs by 2025, he is committing to equipping 20 percent of spaces in municipal public parking lots and garages with Level 2 chargers by 2025.
