EVs have the potential to be the most sustainable type of transportation ever. They are the only vehicles that can be powered by electricity and produce zero tailpipe emissions. They can be charged by the electric grid or at home, in public charging stations or at work.

Electric cars offer many unique benefits that you don’t get with gasoline-powered vehicles. Besides saving you money and time on fuel, electric cars are cleaner and quieter than gasoline-powered models. They also come with a wide array of convenience features.
For example, you can choose to have your battery replaced or refilled at your convenience if it needs it. Some companies even bring your car to you for service if it needs repairs.
You can also charge your car at your house, at multi-family housing or at work. You can charge overnight, or when you’re traveling on a long distance trip.
Most EVs have a range of about 200 miles on a single charge, although some have a higher maximum range. These are EPA-estimated figures.
Despite the high initial costs, EVs are expected to become more affordable as production volume increases and batteries become more efficient. Electric car purchase prices are also likely to be subsidized by federal tax credits and state or utility incentives.
