Electric City Vehicles

Electric city vehicles are fun to drive, they are environmentally friendly, and they save you time and money. They also help you reduce your carbon footprint.

There are three types of electric vehicles: battery-powered, hybrid-electric, and fuel cell. Each type has its own benefits and limitations.

Battery-powered EVs are great for reducing emissions, and they are relatively inexpensive to maintain. However, they don’t last as long as gas-powered cars. Hybrid-electrics have both an internal combustion engine and an electric motor. You can switch between the two at will, but they are usually less eco-friendly than fully electric cars.

Fuel-cell EVs are very quiet, and they don’t require tune-ups. The battery can be charged at home, in your office, or at a public station.

Some EVs have a ‘city’ range of around 80 miles, but many can travel more than 200 miles on a single charge. That said, if you plan on driving on the road more often than that, be sure to buy a car with a wide enough range.

The cost of electricity to power an EV for a full 100 kilometres is about EUR 4 – well below the cost of a petrol or diesel vehicle. This is due in large part to the efficiency of the technology.

An EV’s city-range rating can be determined by checking the EPA window sticker. Aside from the range, however, there are several other considerations when comparing the energy consumption of various electric cars.
