When shoppers compare the efficiency of EVs, they usually look at an EPA rating like MPGe or miles per gallon equivalent. But to get the most value from an EV, consider how many miles it can drive on one battery charge as well as your driving habits and climate extremes.
Despite its limited range, the GM EV1 electric car was popular with some owners, and was used as part of a successful campaign to increase public acceptance of EVs. Several lessees even installed their cars with home solar panels, reducing energy consumption and making it possible to charge from the grid for free.
Lexus’s 2023 RZ 450e small luxury crossover is its first all-electric model. It offers the brand’s comfort and quality, a premium infotainment system, and the ability to drive on regenerative braking only. It also has a sporty, two-row design with room for five. Its 0 to 60 time of 2.8 seconds is among the fastest in its class.
