They are also an important step in reducing carbon emissions and reducing global energy demand. They are a critical part of the EV30@30 campaign, which is working with 100 cities to accelerate the adoption of EVs and help them become carbon neutral by 2030.
Electric City Vehicles Cars Power
As the number of EVs grows, so does the need for public charging. As New York City residents and visitors leave their homes to park in municipal garages, shopping centers, or work, EV drivers must be able to charge at a location that is convenient and accessible.
To address this, NYC DOT is working with Con Edison to expand access to Level 2 chargers in public spaces. This is a critical first step towards creating a broader EV charging network across the five boroughs that can serve as a model for other cities.
Tesla Ford GM Power Manufacturing
As an industry leader, Ford has made significant commitments to increase its electric vehicle production. Its plan to make two million EVs by 2026 is a major commitment to the future of clean transportation and is a good example of a company that is serious about the need to reduce emissions and create green jobs.
The new plant in Stanton, Tennessee, which is scheduled to be complete in late 2020, will be the largest factory complex that Ford has ever built and will reimagine how electric vehicles and batteries are made. It will include a new battery plant, key suppliers and recycling facilities that will be a vertically integrated ecosystem for Ford to assemble an expanded lineup of F-Series vehicles.
