This video was brought to you by Steinberg a better world planner Mr Green Camp power and Marcus Beale Yo what's up we are now at uh and behind Me here you see Nissan Town store it's a New van you know the EnV 200 has been Discontinued and from now on it's going To be the town star so this is whooping 45 kilowatt hour battery we're gonna do A range test I've been charging for a While now a long time Um I think it's almost done let me check Here well it's um it's taking 3.6 Kilowatt I'm not sure if that's the HVAC Or if the car is done charging but I'm Going to show you that this is smaller Than an emv200 So it's like a it's like a pizza car and The charge port is in the front uh by The way this is a a fossil car that has Been forcefully muted oh yeah It could take 1 500 Kilograms but yeah Um what the heck is this it's the fuel Tank but look here so you can you can Have you have this door configuration so You can actually load pallets right in Here you know A fairly spacious you see sturdy hooks For securing cargo also on the side here Oh yeah not well insulated but I guess You can also get that if you want to Yeah Okay and then let me show you inside Here
So this is based on Renault Tech So even though it's a Nissan I thought oh oh yeah maybe it's based on Audio tech no it's actually a joint Venture between Nissan Renault and Mercedes they have very similar cars so Cars kind of works but I have to use Then the the soy profile and then we get Some weird rallies okay this one 97 it's Supposed to be 100 of this place I oh I'm guessing maybe the truth still the Charge is 97 voltage seems to be correct Amp is correct wait let me see is it Actually correct no no no no this is This is frozen oh I see no no we're Taking only three kilowatt so Uh this one is also kind of stuck but at Least this one seems to be correct 43 Something kilowatt hour okay okay Standard health is 99.96 And then here yeah you know it's the van Van's life yeah obviously we are looking For cup holder the cup holders here Um we have look at this Glove box that slides out huh well you Can put your TPS reports here and then Look here look here Above it oh yeah what is this what is This you can have your TPS reports here You see oh yeah man this is perfect and Then look here Make a mirror without light of course But also if you bring your wife she has
A way bigger mirror Okay but I mean are we done now I'm not sure the car is just 194 Kilometers right okay we have to figure Out what the heck how this stuff works Man uh it doesn't have a navigation I Think it seems like you have to use the The phone to get navigation in order to Figure out the whole thing here how the Heck we reset it Um okay let me get ready and then I Guess we will start the range test Why are we on the move so first part of The test is just to drive from slap and Over to the other side so this is the West side of Oslo and we're driving to The north side the ghetto then we'll be Going to ionte door so uh yeah hopefully We can make it there without having to Recharge no but I'm primarily measuring The consumption we're gonna measure how Much energy we have in the battery and Then we've also do the the 90 and 120 Test so this is a new method I started Using so I don't have to waste too much Time uh interesting back and forth so um Yeah A little bit of traffic in the daytime And also it's not too relevant right now How fast I'm driving but of course I Don't want to hammer too hard because if You Hammer hard You will have a higher current output But and also more losses so you try to
Okay not have two crazy losses All right we have arrived at ayonti doll And yeah this is a common site nowadays We have plenty of cars charging and Trucks you can see that that is not the Faucet blocking it uh if you're swimming On the license plate EF Knight Just kidding oh yeah so it's actually an Electric truck Volvo electric truck cool Yeah and you see they don't bother on Hitching he's blocking like the whole Parking lot there over there but Whatever okay but okay so now what I'm Going to do is uh we look at this one so From slapping to here we spend 16.6 Kilowatt hour this is nice that the car Shows this information most EVS they Will show you distance and consumption Only and this one shows actually lots of Information Recuperate wow wow look at this so much Information here okay anyway we're gonna Reset now and then do the 90 test I forgot to show you something else Pretty cool see here we have an Integrated phone holder huh and you can Also switch this one over to this side Or I don't know if you can maybe get Another one so you can have two phones Here but look here What the heck okay there's a storage Here right in front of the driver yes we Have you know some cars that have Head-up display this one has Head Up
Storage So I guess you can put more TPS reports Here we have two USB a I guess in Japan They haven't invented USBC yet and then We have another 12 volt Outlet here and Some store I don't know do you have Wireless Charming here no that would be Weird but um we also have a 12 volt Outlet there Okay anyway let's stop digging around We're on the moon now now and how is Mirrors are today oh Almost no win Okay they repair the winds up look here It was complete for a long time so today We have uh mostly dry roads yeah there's Some patches where the snow has melted And then let me see a temperature I have To cruise 124 and the temperature over Here is one degree Celsius it was four Degrees at nebulous I will always try to Find an average so yeah this is pretty Cool to see all the stats here okay And I don't know if you noticed but it Is actually a relatively quieter Compared to the EnV 200 I think in Between about one of the noisiest cars Out the van and also car of course out There except for maybe a mocks or other Shoes boxes I mean that one was even Noisy but This one is a big upgrade so if you Actually use the driver or if you're Driving EnV 200 right now and you're
Considering town star then Big upgrade really big big upgrade also I feel like the ride and the comfort and Everything here is just better the seats Everything is just way way better than Env200 was back in the days even the Battery is better and it has active Cooling well actually the nv200 also had It yeah but it was kind of weird This car has no adaptive cruise control Just dumb cruise control and also no Auto well it has some kind of Auto Stair-ish some ping pong uh well it kind Of stares oh oh oh yeah well yeah ping Pong So it's like Poor Man's ah okay okay Trying to kill him it's like Poor Man's Pro pilot well actually in the spec Sheet it's supposed to have some kind of Pro palette but they're not on that this Ain't no Pro palette I just don't see Any blue button for the pro pilot over Here you're not fooling me It's doing a auto stair more or less Like a Neo All right we're back to the starting Point 287 watt hour per kilometer nice okay uh Let me say yeah I need to write down This segment also and then I reset Actually I don't have to reset now now We can just drive we have to drive until We are almost empty so we have 32 Kilometers of range left uh it doesn't
Show you how many percent you have it Has this fuel gauge here uh and then I Can see here that according to a car Scanner we have 18 left so all right Let's uh keep driving I need to check The weight of the car Okay let's see front axle 1020 okay the whole car 780 okay hmm I guess that is approved right Uh we are almost done now and then you Know just a minute ago I had 10 15 Kilometers of range left and then Suddenly Oh we have no indicated range left What's up with this Asian cars doing That the Chinese cars are doing it the Japanese cars are doing it well I'm not Sure about the Korean cars but okay I Can see here at least in car scanner That we have Seven percent left and 3.3 kilowatt hour Left and also it seems like this this Number here seems to be power limit so There's also a gauge here that shows me That okay I start getting reduced power We have supposedly uh 90 kilowatt uh This is the rated power for this car so Whoa a little bit darker so uh well Actually yeah how much do we have now I'm not sure but there is no throttle Mode yet so I guess we just go deep All right I think I'm gonna bail out Here so in the first segment I use 16.7
Kilowatt hour plus this one 23.9 Kilowatt hour and then we have 2.66 so That actually becomes 43.3 kilowatt hour Uh just like what the car initially uh Estimated many cars will claim more Kilowatt hour but then once we drive it There are some losses and then we Actually get less but it seems like at Least here you can actually get that one So I don't dare going deeper well Actually maybe I should but now whatever I think you can go kind of low so let's See if we actually have five or six Percent when we plug in now so yeah I'm At the ion the charger we have plenty of Stalls as this is heaven uh there used To be lots of ladder style here but now The ladder style is gone g-o-n Oh this display claims six percent but Actually We came with three percent two or three Percent it's four percent now Okay so it was three percent Well look at this oh we're getting 68 Kilowatt wow okay but it means that most Likely there's a top buffer because you Know when I charge to 100 uh in here it Was showing 90 something I don't Remember but not 100 and then when we go Deep then there's a little bit of buff Buffer below zero I guess uh yeah Because it's kind of funny yeah now by The way now we see percent here Yeah when we are charging we see percent
Five percent there seven point five Percent there hmm maybe I should do the Chanting test now Right we're on the move again so we did A charging test and it was charging very Impressively for 45 kilowatt hour Battery more about that in I guess one Thousand kilometer challenge yes we're Doing it we're doing it one thousand Kilometer okay but um yeah another Charting video that nobody watches so Yes now we Cruiser 93 Uh I guess I will just dry the same Route maybe go to um Strong Legion back again yeah that Should be good enough but traffic is Picking up now because it's four in the Afternoon so consumption so far 192 watt Hour per kilometer wait is that lower Than the Toyota B Set uh Wait what the heck uh I was going to Play some music Wait uh There's supposed to be other stuff here Home button doesn't work What the screen is kaput Does Auto Isa Okay it works now I had to unplug the USB stick maybe the USB stick was Messing up with this file system I could make a virus and then infect the System What okay All right
I don't expect any high five high-end Stuff here Well I guess it sounds okay for a van But I think the ID bus sounds better But I guess it's better than the EnV 200 Right Oh there's some base here Next Okay legit Nice and clear Well over crisp Okay oh we're gonna do sound test in a Tunnel soon okay whatever Okay sounds like next one skip a little Bit you listen to the bass What you know it sounds okay for a van Won't you let me dream Yeah It's lack of deep Pace that there's no Deep Pacers like some kind of mid base Ish I don't know it goes down to maybe a Hundred Hertz Give up with this one Well you know it sounds okay let me Listen for the rattling Okay A little bit of rattling in the Doors as expected yeah I did a quick one Here so uh because we are just arriving Tunnel but yeah what should I say about The sound system I guess I need to kind Of give points compared to the other Ones right Um let's say four out of ten it lacks Pretty much everything uh it doesn't
Sound that pleasant but I mean it sounds Okay it's okay it's still it's still as A worker you don't you don't care about High five right you might be thinking oh You can just wear headset well you know It's illegal to wear headsets yeah Because you're supposed to hear the Ambulance and stuff like that I've seen Even today I saw Norwegian left land Tuggers hugging the left lane While there was police behind them Trying to get past and like no hope no One is dying Okay We are back home now so um I actually Have to stop here near my home and Charge up because you know this is like A fat Subway a fatso no but it has 22 Kilowatt on board charger which is Awesome but it can only work on 400 volt Uh yeah Tien it cannot work on it Network that I have at home 2001 no and I don't have actually they don't provide The you know there's like this Transformer they call it Law Department Or something yeah the the charging Bucket that so people get uh you don't Get them by default but uh dealerships You they can't provide you that or you Can go to a Renault dealership and buy It from them so yeah that means I cannot Charge at home and I need to top up here So I chose the cam power because um Let me see what what speed are we
Getting 70 kilowatt okay because I can Scan the QR code here and since I don't Have app you know for press cars I don't Have apps or at least I can see when the Charging finishes and then I can just Walk back here and grab the car So based on the test today I have Estimated that this car under reports Distance by as much as 2.3 percent so That means that all the consumption Numbers we see is actually 2.3 lower so That's good and then also when it comes To energy yeah okay we can get 73.3 Kilos 43.3 kilowatt hour possibly until The car stops but we only count until Zero so also estimated that that's 41.9 Kilowatt hour and then I guess we have Roughly 1.4 kilowatt hour below zero Buffer uh but you can see that it looks Like town star can go further than the EnV 200 I mean the nv200 has smaller Battery but when it comes to consumption I'm not sure because the emp200 had the Worst driving condition than today but Uh also I already estimated that 1 000 Kilometer challenge should take around 13 hours the main reason is that this Town star actually has very nice and Flat Charney curve it can take 75 Kilowatt according to the spec is 80 Kilowatt so very close and then flat Until I don't remember it was 30 or 40 Before it started dropping so uh yeah we Should really try one thousand kilometer
Challenge I mean people who buy the town Star I mean it it is within the name It's the the star of the town it's for City driving it has small battery unlike The the PSA cars that has a bigger Battery and can go longer this is also The ID bus but uh you know what what is The point the 1 000 kilometer challenge For this City Pizza car well that's it's Pointless that's the point we're gonna Do it for uh for entertainment so 13 Hours It's actually going to be faster is it Going to be faster than the Toyota BS Well we'll see I guess yeah we'll see so I think that's going to be it for now I Hope you guys enjoyed this video as Always thank you for watching and talk To you later
Electric City Vehicles Cars Power
Electric City Vehicles Cars Power
The shift to electric vehicles is accelerating, as federal support for national charging infrastructure and American manufacturing tax credits drive the market. Sales of zero-emissions vehicles in the US soared by 85% over the past year.
Despite their growing popularity, many drivers still have questions about the technology and whether an electric vehicle is right for them. They want to know how long they can expect to get on a charge, the type of energy source they should use when charging, and what to do to avoid running out of battery power before they reach their destination.
There are also concerns that an influx of EVs could overload a power grid that is already under pressure due to the steady rise in demand. If most EV owners tried to charge during peak times, it would force utilities to deliver more electricity than they were capable of producing.
One way to avoid this problem is to make sure you plan your charging times carefully. Charging during the daytime and evening, for example, would help prevent a surge in energy usage from saturating the grid.
Another possible strategy is to connect your EV to the grid as a distributed energy resource (DER). This could feed power back into the grid to help it during peak periods.
While this is an option, it isn’t yet widespread and can be costly, especially if the underlying power plant is located far from where the EV is driving. That’s why it’s important for governments to work together to ensure that EVs can become a reliable resource for the grid rather than a burden.
