Electric City Vehicles Cars Power

With the promise of a cleaner environment, more affordable fuel costs, and lower maintenance costs, many drivers are turning to electric vehicles for their commute or daily transportation needs. There are a wide range of electric cars for sale, with most models rated for a minimum of 150 miles between charges and an EPA combined-range rating that can be as high as 520 miles.

Automakers are betting big on the electric vehicle market, and they’re committing a combined $27 billion in investments over the next several years. As a result, there are now numerous EVs on the market and many more in development.

Among the most popular are Ford’s Focus Electric, Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning. And GM has the Chevrolet S-10 EV.

Honda Motor Company, the Japanese-based manufacturer of hybrid and fuel cell vehicles, is working on an electric model that could go up to a thousand miles between charges. Volkswagen has numerous EVs as well.

BMW i3

A popular electric city car, the i3 is an agile and lightweight hatchback that can travel on average about half of the distance of a gas-powered vehicle before it requires a fill-up. As the i3 has been updated over the years, its range between charges has improved significantly.

Electric vehicles also have the potential to send excess power back to the grid, which may make them a profitable investment for some drivers. The process depends on the rules in individual states, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re thinking about buying an electric vehicle.
