Electric City Vehicles Cars Power

Electric Vehicles and GM Powering Eugene

EVs are better for the environment than conventional cars, and they’re sleeker, quieter, and sometimes associated with luxury driving. With demand increasing, EVs are becoming more affordable, and you can choose from many makes and models to find the one that fits your style and needs. They may have a higher purchase price, but they can save money on maintenance and fuel.

The EV Strategy compliments the City’s climate recovery goals and sets an aggressive goal for the number of electric vehicles in Eugene. While it’s not enough to achieve these goals on its own, increasing adoption rates of EVs will help get us closer to a climate-resilient future.

Tesla

GM Power Manufacturing
GM is transforming its Stanton, Tennessee operations to become a vertically integrated EV manufacturing hub that will support the company’s global EV business. The new facility, called BlueOval City, will include a battery plant, key suppliers, and recycling. This will help the company deliver its vision for a fully electrified portfolio of vehicles by 2030. GM is also partnering with Redwood Materials to scale production of critical battery components in the United States. This will allow them to meet the long-term supply requirements for EVs and other lithium-ion-based consumer rechargeable devices. This partnership is also important because it supports local jobs in the US. The companies are leveraging the EV Growth Fund to expand their production capacity and accelerate the deployment of EVs. This will help ensure America has a robust, reliable charging network.
