If you want to save the planet, you should probably start considering an EV. These zero-emission, battery-powered vehicles are a major part of the future of transportation, and they’re coming down in price and getting more efficient with each passing year.
Tesla is a pioneer in the industry and has built some of the world’s best electric cars, including the Model S, X and 3. Ford is committed to the electric vehicle future and has several models in its lineup.
GM is another big player in the market and has a long history of creating cars that are environmentally friendly. It has also been a pioneer in making EVs more accessible, and it has developed Ultium, an electric motor platform that can be used to create multiple models of EVs.
Ford aims to sell at least 40% of its vehicles as EVs by 2030, while GM and Stellantis (mainly Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, and Jeep) have each announced plans to ramp up their EV production to meet the same goal.
In New York City, the city’s DOT has launched the Electric Vehicle Fast Charger Program, which offers up to four 50kW DC chargers in select public parking lots and garages. These hubs will allow EV drivers to charge their vehicles on a per-hour basis.
