Go [Music] We are now on the ring Two first we draw on the ring one and Then a little bit on the motorway so Yeah I'm not sure where we're going to Go there we can go in between them also There plenty of root options here but uh From what I see now it seems like when We're driving in the city the Consumption seems to drop but it could Also be because of elevation Change but um I think this this might be The strength of EV is that um because They can Regen and they are and also because they When they are stationary they don't pull Too much uh electricity for heating or Something or cooling then uh City Driving seems to be uh good for Consumption cuz you can drive quite slow Yeah but fossil cars I think they will Take bigger penalty from driving in the City like when you have to regen stop Start and also idling consumes a lot of Dinosaur juice so Yeah anyway uh let's just continue Drive Ring two a little bit and then maybe Also continue to ring three or I'm not Sure but that's that's a that's a a more Like a Motorway without any stop lights So I think maybe I'll skip Wing three we Just stay with this one because here we Have a lot of start stop so when we are
Stop now well actually this is a bit High you're actually pulling 1.2 1.5 kilow huh really that Much it's it's only 11° [Music] Outside [Music] Right I decided to mix in some ring Three also so this is the 70 s ring Roughly uh yeah especially now in summer In Winter it BEC 60 St so yeah um see The time well actually do we see the Clock there no uh we can see the clock Here it's almost 9 now and uh we spent 1 Hour uh discharging only 8% so you know this test could possibly Take somewhere between 10 and 15 Hours so there's probably a reason why I Never bothered doing this test but okay Let's just at least Chill on the Ring Road for a bit so here we can uh get Some distance done and here also there It's non-stop no no roundabouts no stop Lights or anything like that unlik uh The ring one ring Two [Music] We are at olal um just doing a little Check here so you see yeah we have Driven only 96 km after all these hour Hours but um consumption is 2011 watt Hour per km but this car under reports By 1% so the real consumption is 199 wat Hour per kilometer and then based on
Well the remaining percent or even more Accurately if you can look at this one The car uh reports that we have 53 KW Hour so based on this uh and also based On the net capacity I know of this car Then we have around 365 km of range so um that actually Roughly corresponds with the the 90 test That I did so yeah um and we are even Slightly lower well actually I'm not Sure about elevation we could be Slightly lower than the starting Position at home at AR but um I think I Will just stop the test because it took Really long time and I can roughly Extrapolate uh what the consumption will Be for the for the whole test uh so yeah But now now at least we tried uh City Driving takes a long time those stop Lights that take forever and Ring Road Okay uh but then you could also be stuck In Stow uh but uh overall though it Could seem like at least that uh Electric cars they are fairly efficient In a city unlike fil car we could try to Do the same thing with a fossil car try To drive fosil car at constant speed 90 Km per hour see how much it consumes Could be something like half liter per Now 5 L per 100 km and then we could try The fossil car in the city I suspect That the FY car in City would be uh Significantly higher so yeah but anyway I think that's going to be it for now I

Electric City Vehicles (EVs) For Long Distances
EVs run on electric motors and rechargeable batteries that free your car from the dependence on gasoline and reduce emissions. Most of these cars have been rated by the Environmental Protection Agency with MPGe ratings, which reflect how far you can drive on a full charge. Some also have range estimates based on the total energy consumption of the car including heating, cooling, and other functions.
Some EVs use their batteries to store energy to help the power grid when demand is high. One of the nation’s largest utilities, Pacific Gas & Electric, is working to deploy 7,500 charging stations in its service area that will allow cars to take on surplus renewable energy during times of peak production and then return some of the stored electricity back to the grid when demand is low.

While most EVs are designed for city driving, you can find some capable of going on longer trips. The Chevrolet Bolt EV has the longest driving range of any EV with more than 265 miles between charges, while the Ford F-150 Lightning, which draws its power from the national grid rather than a battery, can tow up to 10,000 pounds and has a class-leading 230 to 320 mile driving range.
Dealers are concerned about whether OEMs will be able to ramp up production and sales fast enough to meet mandates, with battery technology still maturing and raw materials like lithium in short supply. They also are worried about a lack of public charging stations, which will limit consumers’ ranges, and they want the federal government to boost investment in EV infrastructure and battery technology.
