A degradation test with oh this is So annoying is this a Korean car a Chinese car or is it um a German car but You see I hooked up I use OBD splitter Here and then I have a v in the back Here and I'm going to do a degradation Test with a V also simultaneously but Then for some reason when I use a Splitter on the OBD there that's OBD LX By the way uh it doesn't Work so I have to connect it directly Then I get some information here but It's still weird so um I'm not sure what I should do um maybe I just have to Disconnect this one while I'm doing the Test we can Al only look at the stuff in The screen holy that's a tiny Screen you have to pay for everything Here do do we even have blinkers oh we Have blinkers oh at least that's good it Has never been used it's the first time That blink has been Used okay but uh yeah let's uh do the Operations and then off we Go um I'm trying to start the AO test And normally this takes just a minute And then it's ready now it's been stuck At step three now for the longest time It was also quite slow on the step two So um okay let's restart this one okay I Restarted uh previously I used opra now I try Chrome we are now at step five out Of six it's just cam here for long time What the heck is over anyway yeah but uh

Have yeah few numbers and then we will Do the the actual test and see how many Kilowatt hour get then are we on the Move and outside we have – 2° c I Decided to cruise a 90 we might as well Make it a 90 test right um and you see Here that we have 99% battery now but For some reason uh electrified suddenly Shows up as 80 no no it's all over the Place okay uh so that number is whacked Uh it's probably not state of charge It's just something else that is being Displayed as St charge and of course This car has no Auto steer there's a Button here that looks like Auto there But when you press it you'll see That we get this traffic jam assist Available up to 60 km/ hour now you can Code the BMV and enable it for higher Speed uh coding is well basically you're Changing a configuration file in the car And then you can yeah unlock your hidden Features in the car but I haven't gone Into the whole coding thing but at least It exists for I mean people who own the Car who probably wants to make it nicer Than it is right now and then how is M Today well we have some headwinds a wind From the north but despite the headwind We are hovering at 180 wat hour per kilm Ah that's not too bad considering this Winter out side- 1° C and the road is Well dry some places slightly wet some Places but uh nice weather we are now

Activated what the heck man a little bit Of low sun and it can't handle it right Come on Cruise a wait focus focus Focus okay resume okay now it works now It works because we are in the Shade and then also I try to catch it Every time we uh uh enter tunnel that's Fine but when we exit the tunnel and we Have low Sun it should also Bug we are back at D now and uh we have 8.5% battery left we're almost done with A test and when I check on Google this Stretch here from home to R and to dll Is supposed to be 198 km but it doesn't Show any decimals but you see now that We have 198 km on the trip meter plus a Little bit more so this is pretty much Spot on the distance at least speed of Course is 3 km/ hour off so yeah this is German precision and by the way if You're wondering if you have a speed Error that same equ equivalent error is In distance also right nope that's not How it works the cars there have been Purposely programmed to show uh too much Speed uh so that you don't by accident Drive over the speed limits so okay uh Let me see now we have 16 km of range Left okay I'm going to do a little Loop Try to go deep and then we go back Actually but then we go to I here to John let me check how B oh there's no One J there two cars Jing over there

Practical and when I'm doing a charge Test I don't want any hwac or anything To interfere with the test so have the Car off even but then I brought ecoflow And a heater and this is the uh 750 or 1,500 watt heaters I run it at 750 watts And it gives me nice uh temperature in Here so yeah it's you don't have to Suffer while you while you need test Yeah by the way this is just a test so For normal people you can just have your What the heck man this BG huh what it Bugged previously on the other stall Over there and then I moved over to this Stall and I thought that was not going To bug but it bugged again uh okay um I Was going to do a charting test but uh I'll probably just give up now it keeps Bugging uh the strange thing is that it Stops for a little bit and then it Starts again just like uh I think it was The Honda e no no it was the Honda e Colon n y1 that did it yeah look look Here this is this is strange you see It's taking 1 Kow and then it ramps up Again what's up with this Huh uh so obviously that there is no Handshake Problem uh uh the it's strange uh Normally when you start charging and if It fails in the beginning then of course But once it starts it should just keep Going uh do we had bad contact here Nope
So yeah uh maybe just give up the test I'm not going to drive it down to 10% Just to restart the test or whatever we We skip that part we're we back home now So based on my calculation now it seems Like we have only 2.1% degradation but That is based on 38 kwatt hour when it Was new but I also had a measurement When I had 39 kilowatt hour so which one Is correct well actually I'm not sure But according to EV database it's 37.9 KW hour so that's close to 38 that I got in some measurement right so but Remember that when the car was brand new It showed 129 amp hour uh it's quite Common for car manufacturers to over uh I don't know how to put this they they Have a little bit more capacity than the Rated capacity because they know that in The first initial 3 to 6 months you will Have a little bit of drop in capacity And then it flattens out so uh maybe the 39 KW hour is 129 amp hour and then 38 k Hour is 120 amp hour so yeah you could Of course count 39 as the initial one And say that it was 4.6% degradation but I think it's more like 2.1% which is Simply amazing it's really good for not So big battery but uh uh also driven so Many kilometers so for example compared To Tesla then this I3 battery has less Degradation that M Falcon had back in The days huh what do you think about That so yeah um would be interesting to

Electric City Vehicles Power the Future
In an EV, about 59-62 percent of the energy from the grid goes to turning the wheels, compared with 17-21 percent in an ICE car. That means EVs use less energy and need less charging. That also means electric cars use far less oil and emit fewer tailpipe emissions than gasoline vehicles.
But EVs aren’t just better for the environment—they are also less expensive to operate than traditional vehicles. The average cost of filling a conventional gas-powered vehicle is $4 per gallon, and filling an EV is often a fraction of that. In addition, a typical EV can be charged for free in public charging stations that are rapidly expanding around the country and world.
The electric car era begins in the US with the release of the Tesla Roadster (pictured above), which transforms the perception of these vehicles and helps spur major automakers to genuinely jump into the EV market. More recently, Nissan’s Leaf and Volkswagen’s Jetta EV have gained popularity in the US as affordable alternatives to traditional vehicles.
Ford’s upcoming $5.6 billion “mega campus” in Stanton, Tennessee, known as BlueOval City, will create a vertically integrated ecosystem for producing the company’s expanding lineup of all-electric F-Series vehicles and batteries. The plant will include a new battery production facility, key suppliers and recycling—all designed to be carbon neutral and zero waste to landfill once fully operational.
