Benz has unveiled pricing and specs for its upcoming electric SUV, the EQB. The EQB’s entry-level EQB 300 4Matic Exclusive is powered by an electric motor with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system and 225 horsepower. It will travel 260 miles on the European WLTP cycle, but EPA estimates have not been released yet. Prices for this model begin at $55,550. Among the features of the EQB are a Mercedes-Benz User Experience, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and a power steering system.

Mercedes-Benz EQB electric SUV design

The interior of the Mercedes-Benz EQB electric SUV looks a bit like a crossover SUV with some changes. The car has a rose gold color scheme and EQ branding. The EQB will be available in five and seven seat versions. The second row will be ideal for children or small adults, while the third row is not large enough to seat grownups comfortably. The Mercedes EQB will have a 111-inch wheelbase and is 184 inches long. Its cabin features a long dashboard with aluminum styled fittings, which make the car appear spacious.

Similarly, the EQB features a black panel that connects the front and rear lights. The EQB also has a distinctive, blue and rose gold 20-inch wheel design. The EQB’s LED headlights are similar to those of the GLB but are slightly different in their design. The front and rear fascia are also similar, but the EQB’s headlights have a slicker design than the GLB’s.

WLTP-certified range of 418km

The all-new Mercedes-Benz EQB electric SUV will be available in Europe and China from 2021. It shares MFA2 architecture with the GLB, the company’s other electric SUV. Unlike the GLB, however, the EQB will be available at a more affordable price. Although it’s a premium vehicle, the EQB has a range of more than four hundred kilometers, according to WLTP. The EQB’s range will depend on the model you choose, so be sure to check the range of your car before you decide to buy one.

The Mercedes-Benz EQB comes with extensive standard equipment, including LED high-performance headlamps, THERMATIC automatic climate control, Light and Sight Package3 and a folding armrest with two cupholders. It also comes with a nifty MBUX infotainment system with navigation with electric intelligence. The EQB range starts at 240km, and goes up to 418km with an EQB 350 4MATIC.

Price

The company has not yet disclosed the exact prices of its new electric SUV, the Mercedes-Benz EQB. We do know that the electric SUV has a range of up to 260 miles on the WLTP cycle. The company has yet to reveal all of the other details, like the powertrain. Nevertheless, we can expect the starting retail price to be much lower than what we’ve seen so far. Mercedes will sell the SUV with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and differing battery packs for each.

The EQB will have front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, and its base price is around $40,000. Compared to the EQS, it will cost an extra $5,000 to buy the electric version. However, the segment is set to expand dramatically, and competition will be fierce. Until then, we can expect to see prices around $80,000 for a front-wheel drive model, and $70,000 for an all-wheel drive version.

Design cues

The new Mercedes-Benz EQB is an electric SUV that shares many of the same design cues of its predecessor. The front end features a wide grille and a continuous light strip – both of which are characteristic of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The rear end is also distinct, featuring full-width lighting through the rear hatch. Both the grille and light strip are made of black materials, and the EQB’s overall appearance is sculpted to make it easier to maneuver.

The interior of the EQB is a surprisingly spacious space for an electric vehicle. With 23 cubic feet of passenger space, the EQB is roomy enough to fit a whole family and their belongings. Even though the third row is compact, the interior space is more than adequate. It can seat up to five people, although the headroom isn’t particularly high. In addition, the EQB is fitted with a force-limiting belt for all outboard passengers.
