This video was brought to you by AED Ro Planner Camp power Marcus B storm and B Componente yo what's up today we're Going to do a degradation test/ Eco run/ Sunder driving on a Thursday and it's Going to be a special car Mill Falcon I Have sold it to marus B as you probably Guessed and I just want to know how the Battery state is because you know it's Been 2 years since I did the degradation Test and last time I measured 65.9 KW Hour I haven't driven it that much only 20,000 km since then but uh when the car Was down uh uh for a freaking long time It was sitting at 0% and I wonder if That actually caused some damage to the Battery so yeah uh we are now just Plugged in and I will show you I charged The car to well I charged it until it Stopped but it reports 98% here what can You see it let me adjust here a little Bit Yeah 98% in um got my Tesla we have 98.5% uh yeah the heater is running That's why it's jumping a little bit up And down but you see here useable Remaining 64.9 KW hour that doesn't look Good uhoh because usually I would get Roughly 1 KW hour less than what they Claim so I might get only 64 KW hour and Um does that mean that I actually lost 2 KW hour because the car was sitting at 0% for the longest time um I don't know and also you can see here If you go the

Battery and you can see that the cell Voltage uh Min is 4.16 Max is 4.17 so it Doesn't charge it 4.2 volt anymore and Also it sell inba uh so and it doesn't Charge 100% anymore this is a bit Confusing for owners uh for example Other cars will just calibrate it and Then show show it as 100% even though They have lost some kilowatt hour okay So the plan today is to Drive um Highway 4 we take the UIC route And then we go further up via viig you Know and then we try to end up back here So we will see how many kilometers we Can drive now in a single charge and for You guys who don't know the history Behind Mill Falcon uh 9 years ago at 86,000 km there was something wrong with The battery it went kaput they replaced The battery that means that the new this Battery has done 285,000 Km still quite decent uh distance uh and Then the battery is 9 years old and the Car is 10 years old so we will see then How far we can Drive and in the spirit of M in the Falcon we are wearing the classic jacket This is the storm bike jacket I used to Wear 10 years ago when I got m in the Falcon you probably recognize this one Right yeah and it's a little bit uh worn Down it's there's a bullet hole in the Back I'm just kidding uh but uh yeah so

From Oslo to tonim I used to travel this Route a lot it's like a historical route For me for Millen Falcon if you guys Watch the old videos you will see that I Transported some stuff with a car you Know the model S is really spacious Despite being uh like a sedon not even a Station wagon and I couldn't really Afford Mila Falcon back then so uh in 2013 I still live at uh HUD I lived on 42 square m in in an apartment highrise Building and I was working at the uh the University as a Programmer and I think back then I had Roughly yeah uh uh 20 26 27,000 Nook After after uh tax yeah per month in Salary and I had to pay for the for the Apartment and some other stuff and also This is roughly when I met wifey Actually met wifey a little bit before I I got Mill Falcon and the only reason Why I couldn't afford him was to do Nimber task I would drive every weekend And transport items and I would make Maybe a couple of thousand nuk per trip And that would be enough for one month To pay for for M Falcon but I also put a Lot of kilometers on him but I love Driving and this is how the channel Started pretty much with him M the Falcon is when I talk about this now I Think back to the old times it almost Brings tears in my eyes Um yeah 10 years now and we are here you

Coalgate with Millen Falcon back then I Would get over to supercharger and then Get instantly 118 kwatt as long as stay The charger was to low enough but yeah So the car now estimates we will arrive At Shell cop with 23% okay let's [Music] Go [Music] We are now back in estol at OTA and now We have 24% Left um or if we look here we have 15.6 KW hour left hm and then the car says That I won't be able to make it to Elum uh I need to charge before I will Arrive with 0% supposedly and I did math I need to average 140 W hour per Kilometer okay whatever um so I will see I will drive a little bit and uh maybe If I get close to Reena I can always Bail out there there some 50 Kow there a Little bit slow but okay that will do um I'm doing a test anyways I want to see How far we can go now so it is cold Outside 5° C but um yeah I still have Heater off for now it's bearable but Eventually I might have to fire up the Heater but it seems like if I fire up The heater now then I definitely can't Make it to El so maybe I should just Fire up the heater anyway uh but then um The next high power charger is a cang h But that's a little bit too early yeah

[Music] All right yeah the car now tells me that I I need to stay below 60 uh 85 km/ hour To reach destination well don't worry I Only go at maximum 80 km per hour over There but yeah I navigated to the old Supercharger which is slightly closer uh And then now the the car says I will r With 1% and if you look here according To the energy graph for the past 50 kilm We've been averaging only 124 wat hour Per kilm wow and you can see also here The consumption start dropping a bit Since we have downhill now so This is very impressive that a 10y old Car with 470 horsepower can be this Efficient okay we don't run hbac through But it also cold outside and the cold Weather also makes the um the drag uh or I mean it's worse so of course if we try This in 20° C or 25 even it would be way Better consumption so yeah um let's see If we can make it to Alum then oh you See now we we get this dotted line so um This is power limit and you can see Maybe on the bar there there the scale That it's roughly around 250 KW the Scale is a little bit nonlinear and if You look in um scam Tesla you see also There 246 KW so this will then crawl down Slowly but uh it's still safe now once It drops below 50 KW then you have to be Worried so still so so far so good the

Car still claims we can make it with 1% Okay let's see and look here still look At the consumption 127 Wow uh we're getting close to Elum now And at 5% I got this message cruise Control disabled huh What um see if I press the button here It goes away and then if I press the Button Again you can see the animation comes There Briefly like it's trying to initiate Cruise control So uh I don't know what's up with that Um I use neutral the c a bit I don't Know if that had anything to do with it Or if there's a new limit now that below 5% you cars use cruise control because Some cars yeah when they have lower than 10% battery or some also they will Refuse to use cruise control so okay Whatever um we're just going to go now To Elm hopefully I just hope that the Car doesn't die before that one because That happened before with some of my Teslas in the past so we'll see we'll See it's 4° cus over here so I don't Want to die over here I mean the car to Die over here yeah we are done D here we Have the end stats yeah 411 okay we have To correct for it but it the car would Actually go a little bit over 400 km Very impressive uh consumption also very Impressive despite that it was cold

Outside and 1% here is not accurate Enough so we have to see here so this is The stuff we have been waiting for we Did actually get 63 KW hour we would get Another 800 W hour so that means 64 KW Hour or actually it depends how you Round up uh it would actually no I I I Think I will count it as 63.9 because There is some round of error here this One doesn't tick tick uh that accurately So yeah we lost 2 KW hour and then the Battery is nice and warm okay let's plug It in see what kind of speed we Get oh yeah we get 113 KW no way it drops over there a well well well classic Tesla for The a what what what what what what Huh that's It and just like good old is I'm going To have some cup noodles in milinda Falcon while charging oh so before I Would use the 12vt kettle but since this Is a shorter trip then I just bring hot Water in here in the storm back bottle And it's hot enough but for longer trip Yeah I need to then heat up uh well Let's prepare then oh man Noodles okay noodles are cooking and Yeah it's a big mess now we have a Cooler bag we have the camera stuff here Um storm bag bottle lots of uh video and Also live stream equipment and also they Have OBD tool and yeah so but you see This is the the classic open console

Thing in the test It was too open So eventually they Discontinued this and they made some Center console but I feel like today's Solution in padium for example is way More elegant and way more practical in This open one unless you want to have I Don't know a big bag of potatoes here in The middle then it's perfect man but Look here so yeah this is the problem This is the downside of the classic uh Tesla is that even at only 3 33% you're Getting 70 Kow in the Glorious Day of Millena Falcon uh 8 years ago 9 years Ago uh at 34% I would still be at at Least 110 Kow so yeah they have nerfed The speed uh I'm not sure why uh maybe Because it was killing the battery or I'm not sure but you see also I'm going To show you something else here look Here so the battery doesn't become that Hot unlike most other modern Teslas you See they they would hit 55 uh degrees by Now right uh Tesla keeps these classic Batteries uh cool for a reason uh uh I Assume because it might Be if it was too hot that might be the Reason why maybe some of them caught Fire or some I don't know man uh so Which means that supercharging a lot uh For the past 20,000 km was probably not The reason why we lost 2 KW hour it must Have been uh when you know uh Six month night last night last year in

November before I went to Thailand the Car went kaput and then um yeah it was Staying at this repair shop for a long Time and it was draining down to 0% and It was camped at 0% for I think over a Month or something and that is probably The reason why the battery degraded Because you not you should not keep the Battery at 100% too long and also you Should not keep the battery at 0% for Too long it's not good for the lithium Uh cells to stay at that so that is Probably the reason why the battery Degraded that much that is my conclusion From this Test oh yeah noodles like good old Days you know that noodles in a cup Taste better when you're charging at a Supercharger for Free all right we have 57% taking 46 Kilowatt oh yeah the battery is still at 43° Here so yeah um let's go home I'm not Sure if you can make it home but uh We'll give it a try the car claims we Will ride with 25% okay let's Go right so um I checked now the cruise Control is working again uh it was just A glitch I never ever any problem with M Falcon and the cruise control I mean it Doesn't have radar anything so it should Work just dumb cruise control uh and Also in case it wasn't obvious you see Now we have heat on 22° C nice and warm

In here I'm going over the speed limit It's 80 limit here I going 88 roughly GPS speed so this is how I normally Drive and this is how many people drive Electric cars you know of course the sun They're going to take this this story And then they will publish it as the Agony Uh it was freezing it was subzero Temperatures outside yeah 6° C and uh The the the the the Creator the the the The car expert he had to drive uh Freezing in the car uh with the heater Off and uh whatever they're going to Make up some some Fu okay soon we get over to the moreway So we can hammer it back Home [Music] We are back home and wow look at this From elim to home here you see okay it Was 12 the the timer keep keeps but we Had over 110 km hour average speed even Huh thep was only 230 okay corrected 233 Or something but that is pretty good man For an old Car yeah okay but okay we need to do one More thing which is to charge the car to 100% and see uh when I did the uh test Two years ago I managed to charge to 99.1% I think it was so we need to check If we can get it more than today and Today was only 85 no 8 sorry 98.5 yeah so you had to

Get more than 98.5 let's try okay we Have to plug it in then all right a Couple of days have passed now so uh Yesterday I charged the car or during The night 100% it stopped at 98 uh Something and I still had the same Result the claiming kilowatt hour but You have to then uh deduct around one Kilow hour loss but then uh yesterday I Also took milon Falcon on a Zer mile Test and you know the cars BMS claims 4 Kow hour below zero I did not get that I Got around 1.4 KW hour only until the Car actually suddenly died so you can See more of that in the separate video About the whole Ser M it was quite uh a Lot of stuff that happened but now we Have charged it back up again and going To see so this time I also want to make Sure that the battery is warm enough so What I've done is that uh the car has Been slowly charging here on AC but I Also had a heater running here 2 KW Heater so the battery should be nice and Warm so let's see what do we got Now okay let's fire Up look at my Tesla uh okay interesting it start it Stopped at 98% again it seems like it's Really hard to get 100% on these old Cars and what do we see here uh oh oh Yeah that's it 98.6 more or less the Same as before 64.9 KW Hour um yeah and it probably also claims

Yeah it will try to estimate 4 kilowatt Our buffer here but this is it we cannot Go higher now yeah so even after testing Going deep charging it back up again uh This is what we have we can only get uh 63.9 ual yeah after losses so we did Actually lose 2% and that means that we Have roughly 15% dividation now suddenly Coming up from 12% so Um yeah um so what should I say um try To if you go down to zero try to plug in And charge right away because if you Keep it too low for too long it should Degrade the battery we have seen now That it's most likely not the fast Charging that killed the B well not Killed the battery but hurt the battery And it's probably not aging 2 years no Not and also when I parked the car at Dealership or whenever I borrow other Cars uh the car was sitting mostly at Somewhere between 90 and 60% and I was Not going to 100% that often so yeah so This is also interesting uh learning uh When it comes to degradation so avoid Going to 100% avoid going to low 0% uh If you go low then try to charge up and Don't let it sit too long I think that's The takeaway from this so that's going To be it for now I hope you guys enjoy This video as always thank you for Watching and talk to you Later
