Some EV manufacturers are working hard to improve the driving experience, comfort and utility of their vehicles. Ford, for example, just introduced the F-150 Lightning, an all-electric pickup truck that offers quick acceleration, convenience features and up to 10,000 pounds of towing capacity. It has an EPA estimated driving range of 230 to 320 miles.
Other EV manufacturers are focusing on making it easier to buy and own a plug-in vehicle. The EV-friendly Chevrolet Bolt EV is America’s best-selling all-electric car, with a starting price of $37,900. It has a 230-mile driving range and can charge in less than three hours.
EV adoption rates will not solely reach Eugene’s community-wide climate recovery goals, but it’s an essential piece of the puzzle. Eugene is tackling several major initiatives to help make EVs more accessible, including growing our public charging network and making it available to all residents.
