This video was brought to you by a Battery planner cam power Marcus Beale Steinberg and Bill componente Yo what's up we are now in noi Munster In Germany yeah and at the supercharger And we're gonna do 200 kilometers per Hour range test yeah let me just reset This one And then we get going so it might not be An optimal State now because we just Finished charging And you see that the battery is quite Hot Ideally you want an AC charge maybe Another problem is that it's 5 30 in the Morning on a weekday So there might be too much traffic I started a bit late I should have been Here an hour ago yeah 4 30 would have Been way better I see there is some Traffic on the road right now So um Just see how it is This video might make it into production Or it might not But okay so I did a similar test four Years ago in 2019 with MC Hammer my Tesla Model 3 Performance and then There's that car went 133 kilometers and The consumption there are the real Consumption was actually 501 watt hour Per kilometer 460 something on display So I just want to know how this one is

That this is I mean it's Model S plaid So With bigger battery and newer technology Like heat pump and back then that one The model 3 I tested back then didn't Have heat pump So yeah I'm eager to see what the Performance will be with this Plaid so but we just have to see now I Have to get on the outer bound so There's a little bit of cooldown now That we drive on the slower stretch but We were trying to cruise at 200 At least let me see I will go the South Route first and then North outwards so It's mid of July right now so there Might be a lot of traffic they may say Oh yeah oh oh oh oh oh Holy macaroni Oh there's also very little region right Now That is a lot of traffic I'm not sure if I'll be able to do Do anything today now I have to maybe Do this on the way back instead Foreign Okay Try the cruiser 200. Okay just increase the speed So let me see now so what the speed you See over here that's GPS speed where's The The speed though I have is slightly Above it so let's see if I cruise at 204

On the speedo that is 201 yeah But unfortunately uh Tesla doesn't have Any Cruise control passed actually passed 140 kilometers below past 150 kilometers Per hour no cruise control Maybe just because of the way the radar Went oh there's some shake oh The tires are not round anymore no but Yeah this is also a problem I see when When I'm stationary there's some the Tires become a little bit shaky okay let Me see if I can Holy crap that shake man Okay hopefully it goes away Eventually but I have to try to maintain 200 kilometers per hour Not sure how that's going to work out Today though Might be a little bit slow down but I Might compensate by going a little bit Faster when I can but the shake is mad Man it's Just Tires it seems like when You sit a little bit then uh yeah yeah This usually happens yeah when you sit a Little bit then the tires become unround Until they heat up And now we have sleepers in the left Lane But this might be uh the reality when You try to go Schnell almost yeah like Even from the morning now until Afternoon evening hours this would be a Situation

So ideally I want to do this at night Just want to check now is this Audi a Sleeper kind of yes it is with a bunch Of other sleepers also So um wait is the return but yeah It's going to be it's just going to be Worse now I see but we just have to see It maybe it's just a little uh clog here Once we get past these guys then it'll Become better But there are also plenty of charges on This route so I don't have to worry too Much about running on the juice at least Left lane Huggers on the other hand That's uh that's a bigger problem Yeah like you would not expect left lane Huggers in Germany right well Think again Then I shouldn't over I shouldn't um I shouldn't undertake anyway like I tend To do in Norway Because in Norway I just Undertake and No problem but let's see let me pay Attention to what's going on with the Car at least you see here the battery is Staying at 30 yeah and then here it's Also cooling down the battery to Maintain optimal temperature For better performance so it will cool Down when it can And then what This is not going to work it's way too Slow man all these sleepers come on come On if you could just go Chanel put it

Bitter shot that'd be great yeah you Need to heat up the tires Let's go a little bit faster but oh Yeah I'm not sure how comparable this is To the the clean 200 kilometers per hour Run Come on guys get out of the left lane She tried to be good Germans now huh No oh there could be yeah There could be non-germans here they Interject like that but at least the the Audi sleeper in front his uh well German License plate So and then uh by the time we Finish in around 45 minutes then there Will be even more traffic so Okay but uh how about you move over now How about that oh man look at this Okay okay I need to compensate this by Going a little bit faster when I can now Yeah ABC always be sleeping in the left lane Right come on come on out there you can Move yes Well I have to lift off a little bit Okay let's go so I need to compass that I go a little bit faster Yeah I'm not sure the car doesn't show On the average speed so unfortunately A region could also be stronger But of course I'm using normal driving Mode now I don't use any track mode or Drag strip mode and that yeah I know in Track mode you can unlock a higher

Region but I don't feel like using track Mode on public roads So um You know just people are trying to get To work now right Is that guy move over no they beat my Boy nope Foreign I guess cruising at 200 kilometers per Hour flat at night would be a little bit Boring that's why okay I could have done This lap Around two at night last night but Everything would just be dark uh yeah You can see the numbers of course but That's why I figured out that yeah let's Start in the morning in instead But then traffic happens so yeah But that's why we might drive a little Bit more yo-yo so it's still fine I Think I should avoid the two hard Acceleration because that introduces Some significant losses I measured yesterday when I drove pretty Hard yo-yo I had 12 loss that was quite Big man but I I floor it I I used over a Thousand horsepower many many times So yeah then then stuff happens But at least today oh come on come On Germans or whatever you guys are yeah Yeah has a lot of sleepers uh people who Want to get past the people want to go

To work you know But I'm still surprised that the traffic Flows so well on three lanes in each Direction I mean we are after all we're Cruising at 150 160 kilometers per hour Here this would not be the case in Norway yeah but okay anyway let's try to Maintain that 200 kilometers per hour Shall we Some Danes in here Just blend the Danes yeah why they can't Keep why the traffic is not flowing at Over 200 in the leftmost lane but let's See now how is the battery temperature Going yeah so we have around 50 degrees Celsius in the battery so it's slowing Down a little bit I'm sorry it's cooling Down a little bit it was at Um almost 60 degrees earlier So it's cooling down because this is More like a sleeper traffic right now uh The plant is not even sweating Seems like a northbound route has less Traffic right now what the heck man Yeah and this is more like I think more Commuter traffic and not so much of a Holiday traffic the campers they are not Out yet well except for the left leg Campers but okay um So what I want to see is how much loss Do we have here Because the model 3 had seven percent Loss what is this loss by the way when You have higher load you will have more

Losses in in the battery heat generated Pretty much internal resistance is the Battery And the trip meter will not measure this Because how do you measure the Heat lose Loss right you don't you don't so oh Yeah freaking day and of course there's A Dane camping in the left lane Yeah that even rhymes But um how do they measure this uh you Know when you when you see the trip Meter and an energy consumption it's Just a meter that measures how much you Consume So But it can simply not measure the loss Okay we have to compensate by going a Little bit faster now that was the Longest sleep over ever So when I look at trip meter versus how Much the energy was actually spelled how Much we we spend or how much was lost Then I can calculate the losses And just like here oh I forgot I Need to look afterwards and calculate How much we have and I remember we had Almost 89 kilowatt hour it had 88.8 Kilowatt hour when we started And then we'll see wait okay you're Gonna turn around in 10 kilometers Well let's see oh Note to self when I attempt to do these Tests always do them at night yeah That's why I always do them at night by

The way when it's pitch dark but I Couldn't possibly wait until around at Least three or four in the morning but Even then Yeah Okay so you just have to compensate Again by going a little bit faster But I don't expect to be able to go fast Too long before we have to slow down So this is actually slightly worse Because we're doing a little bit of Yo-yoing rather than having constant Speed But at least when I accelerate I don't Use full throttle because that will Generate More heat than necessary But actually this type of driving on the Other hand might be a more realistic Scenario at least when you're driving in The daytime and then of course at night You can have more constant speed Yeah So Okay there welcome back But you can probably hear that this is Not the quietest car out there it's a Bit noisy at high speed But at least it's better than uh Previous generation Teslas I I remember Optimus Prime my testimony Because that one was really noisy man Yeah so but the modern legs had more Window space so maybe that was the

Reason But I think oh I'll get stuck Behind a sleeper again or camper Yeah let's see if the northbound route Is better it seems to be slightly better And then I might well actually I'm still At 85 wow so it seems like now we are Spending way less energy versus when I Did the the more yo-yo Hammer Vmax run Okay you see Yeah average consumption is way too low Man it should be higher so let's just Compensate by going a little bit faster I guess you guys don't mind anyway Going Snell But Yeah I noticed with this cloud is that It can reach 200 kilometers per hour so Effortless Of course now that I'm doing a test I Will not Hammer too hard but when I did The test yesterday I noticed oh Just let it region now into the speed or Barely legal oh okay okay So this is the section where there's a Little bit of a Slowdown because of Speed limits and then we turn around so I want to use this one a quick Pawn uh Yeah I found a name right Um I could turn around for the north but Then the loop becomes shorter So but at least we will have a long

Stretch Where we uh go oh them campers are Out yeah we're at least with you can go Pretty far before we have to turn around But also this is another thing like how Realistic is this test because How long stretches around Germany do you Actually have with unrestricted Zone Before there is right yeah um well Nowadays you can't drive that far before You run into barstellar or something or Or speed limit so um we are actually Creating almost an unrealistic scenario Okay I'm gonna Um Where we we try to drive uh 200 non-stop Well it's not tonsil but yeah so that's Why I'm thinking okay there's some Slowdown there's some turnaround but it Is as realistic as possible because I'm Pretty sure that today it's impossible To have uh let's say um 100 150 Kilometer stretch With no traffic and it's totally Unrestricted well unless you drive at Night someplace and yeah and then you Drive One Direction and you turn around Because you remember that you forgot Something or you hammer it to the Airport and then deliver some people and Then you drive back Let's see now hopefully this direction Has slightly less traffic Right yeah it seems like it I can feel

It okay okay let me show you guys the Brutal power It's not even it's not even flat I mean It's not even 100 observation it's like 50 throttle you can see on the power Output you know maximum power-up would Be around 800 kilowatts 770 kilowatts Okay okay seems like we have a better Run on this North Loop but I will still Go a little bit over 200 for a while to Compensate for the north damn that's a Freaking fast van holy crap how can you Even go that fast man that that is a True German that is a true German is is Not camping in the left lane like I do Yeah wow I didn't even know that the Freaking Mercedes van can go that fast Did you modify your van you must must Have done it man what the heck is this machine Okay Anyway Let me see now we need to burn some Juice right after after So what is the consumption 370 okay okay I'm getting somewhere But yeah maybe if I did it at night it Would be also kind of boring but then There is nothing the world would be Empty so at least there is some Stuff you guys can look at right now Yeah maybe you should leave me a comment Which one you prefer because if you if You've watched ever watched the previous

Ones I've done that was done in the Stretch from Radha to uh to um I'm back again it was done at night also Three lanes in the interaction But um It was dark pitch dark so you didn't Didn't really see anything except for uh Three lanes and some Yeah stuff but wait man no sleepers Those campers they are everywhere Okay let's go Okay I just uh I'm a little bit gentle On the accelerator you know Tracy what Was crazy is that when I'm just giving It half power A third pedal that's usually full power On a fossil or other uh not so fast Electric cars Okay Let's see maybe I just hit morning Traffic Earlier so we just Cruise now uh yeah And then should I keep changing Lane all The time but I mean I did that in one of The other videos and then some people Complained it's dangerous you'll keep Cringe changing Lane yeah you see a true German bit like this oh yeah oh yeah oh Yeah hello hello it's common yeah You know this is a true German Be like this yeah actually you're Supposed to use all Lanes Even if you're going 200 250 kilometers Per hour you're supposed to drive like

This as a true German and by the way now It makes perfect sense that the turn Signal is on the steering wheel I use The Yoke Wheel by the way suddenly it Makes perfect sense because I don't have To move My hand away from the steering wheel And also the the yolk is fairly forward Now right I mean we do we we have tiny Movements only So it makes sense now except for when I Need to uh park or maneuver around Roundabouts then suddenly the Yoke Becomes a joke But I would wish that we will have Stocks plus button on the steering wheel That would be perfect man that would be Perfect really Is going on Yeah okay maybe I need to uh show my Presence There we go Okay okay let's go oh there might Be a little bit of rain Yeah that was also something earlier This morning uh there was some rain I Was like it's really hard to time Everything to avoid rain to avoid Traffic and not be too dark Okay uh are we getting some okay Consumption numbers now 383 watt hour per kilometer okay so That's higher than model three Was 460 oh uh why was it so high

Wait was it really 460 I need to look at The numbers again after I finish the the Run now but uh oh oh spring sleeper Holy crap man well it's It's vacation after all Yeah the model 3 was in fact 460 watt Hour per kilometer wait Move No no yes yes what what the what was it Doing in the left lane anyway man I don't know I don't know what goes in the tiny Brains of the the Germans Oh Okay but um Yeah what the heck why was the MC Hammer So thirsty 460. really Oh Okay but you know The drug coefficient of this plant has Been improved versus the model uh well Palladium rather but versus the model uh Oh there's 93. So maybe we have better drug coefficient Than than the model 3 but then you know CD is just one one of the components you Have to look at CDA right so But ID3 is marked as it's capped at 160 Kilometers per hour anyway Well we'll see maybe we maybe this plot Is more efficient than model 3 but also The model 3 had no heat but back then

But does it matter okay there is plenty Of heat Wasted but Uh yeah that's a Norwegian by the way Okay But we'll see maybe I just I drove too Slow yeah that's probably I I was not Able to hammer 200 kilometers per hour Until now So um oh seems like on the way back We have to Slowpoke again behind campers Sleepers not sure what should we call Them sleepers campers Left lane huggers Yeah okay what is the temperature oh Okay this is what I wanted to see you See here the temperature today oh this Is completely different the battery Temperature is way lower Now versus when I uh floor it with full power then uh And also when I went V-Max or about 230 kilometers per hour repeatedly well Should I flash I should flash a couple Times Yeah I think the problem is that I mean Flash supposedly flushing like that is Not pushing it it's more like uh More like reminding the guys in front That after acting is conventional right Uh They might not be able to detect that we Are approaching fast Or some people have the sense I've seen It some people move out of the way or

They they try to change lane and look in The mirror and then they constantly Lane Change So Maybe there's some skill that some People develop Yeah but uh yeah yesterday I hit over 60 Degrees Celsius in the battery pack now You see when we're cruising at only 200 Kilometers per hour then it's way better And this is exactly what I wanted to Test because okay I mean how many people Drive yo-yo like I did yesterday well It's a lot of fun of course but when you Just want to get fast from A to B you Cruise at 200 kilometers per hour like I Do right when when the traffic allows You to uh which means that this is Actually more realistic scenario than Yesterday when I tested the yo-yo run And then because when you look at Yesterday's video be like oh no uh Tesla Suck uh electric cars suck because they Can't maintain speed well like when you Push it like that yes okay for in a Track yeah but at least on the Autobahn When you just want to go Snell like now Then no problem you can maintain speed And I also have plenty of power yeah you Can see here that I don't want to do it But yeah I can I have the I have 1000 Horsepower if I want to But most of the time I'm just using a Fraction of it 110 to the power or or

Something like that so um It seems like As every generation comes out in Tesla Then uh It becomes better and better they have Better cooling so that it can you can Maintain Speed without any Power limits because if I did this with My Model S P85 from 2013 I think I would struggle to maintain 200 Kilometers per hour Uh well actually especially because that Battery is getting old so there's some There are some limitations that starts Coming earlier versus when I had the car 10 years ago The limitations were not there so this Is of course a downside with batteries That degrades or ages You can of course upgrade the battery Then no problem And the same actually with yesterday's Run is that I noticed that the Limitation was in the battery not in the Motors the motors they are fine man look Here I think this one is correct 58 Degrees Celsius from State attempt so The motors are just sleeping now they They Work at really low load not much stress At all All on the very backhoe should Okay that's the problem on the way back

We have to get stuck behind a bunch of Left lane Huggers wow this one is only Going pretty fast About 190 kilometers per hour maybe oh That's a Kia ev6 Let me see is it registered in Deutschland Yeah All right so I have Mark a north and a South turnaround point on the map on the Navigation So I know where to exit because uh these Places look kind of familiar I mean Unfamiliar to me So there okay Now I just have to set to go back to the South towards the sound Point again at Least this turnaround Point here Does not have a Slowdown you can just go All full speed all the way Except for that you want to slow down a Little bit before like you can't you Can't do 200 kilometers per hour and Then Certainly slow down 500 meter before and Exit so you I usually slow down about Two kilometers before and also region But let's see now Oh man oh this is such a such a pleasure Oh you know if I ever get kicked out of Norway one day like they banned me Because I've been a bad boy then Germany Might be the first choice Because I'm not convinced I would I

Should move to Thailand permanently yeah I look I mean Thailand is a nice country You want to uh visit maybe go on Vacation but It's a nice country to live in Permanently I probably I wouldn't mind Staying there for let's say uh Three months maybe even longer but yeah Okay now we need to exit soon so we see Exit coming in 1.7 kilometers okay Um 1.5 it goes Chanel now okay uh should I Go behind that car yeah let's go behind This guy Okay now I use one region The region actually introduces some some Extra heat into the system Oh okay let's go in front of this Uh Truckers okay and then get ready Wow 308 and now we're cooking 380 Watt Hours here I wish the region was Stronger in Tesla and if I press break Now you see that there's no blending Break going on so it's still limited to Around 90 kilowatts Um for example Kia ev6 I tested the one We just passed that one goes as high as 300 kilowatt so I still wonder why Tesla Doesn't have higher region Okay okay And then we go over here And there we go back And then okay there's LED light

Um but wow listen You can heard you can hear the birds Chirping the fans on it not even running That high what this is so different from The you know Optimus Prime my previous Tesla Model xp90d ludicrous okay that's A model X is a way bigger car but this Earlier generation is from 2016. when I Did 200 kilometers per hour I remember That the car was getting a little bit Exhausted uh It was running the fans you know Oh I don't want to cut in front of These Mercedes but I know I want to go Faster So I have to wait oh is a freaking Day and also man the Danes Uh they lacked Lane discipline uh let me Show you what I mean You see You see what I mean and now there's a There's a an Audi coming from behind oh oh Okay Um Okay maybe I should have cut in front of The Dane because he's a sleeper No come on Yes Okay let me just use half throttle Yeah the Audi disappeared behind me Oh Okay now we have to deal with this Direction which seems to be bad

So uh maybe I should just over Compensate by going a little bit faster Now Uh 32 okay let me check here I would okay Average speed also includes a slow Stretch before we enter this one so That's why the average speed appears to Be lower right now let me check distance Here Yeah we have done 87 kilometers what Really seems like we should be able to Go further than the Tesla I'll get you seriously he noticed That in just in time that there was Coming something coming from fast that Was actually a Dane So I'm not saying that everything is bad No no I'm gonna get so many hate Comments now but I'm just saying that In general seems like the Germans they Are better at Lane discipline than Danes And then of course Norwegians they are Worse than all the other guys okay So all right Um What else is going on yeah but the Battery is actually cooling down right Now I see Inland Inland is 34 degrees so What that means is that it probably Passes through the radiator maybe even The yeah I'm not sure if it passes Through there yeah I think it also uses

AC to cool down the battery Enough to anticipate more power Something right and also 48 degrees Around 40 Yeah around 40 degrees is is okay you Still get maximum power outputs at 40 Degrees but once it dips below 30 oh I Mean around 30 then or the slipper ah Oh man oh Oh Helga come on There's a bunch of people in there They're just Okay okay But yeah So once Uh also since I'm using um Since I'm using plaid mode then the car Has been pre-designed to keep the Battery at higher temperature and also Cool down more aggressively well yeah so And of course when they drive like this Yeah you want to use plant mode or I Mean I could use other modes it would Still be fine but yeah for this kind of Driving style I prefer using flat mode But it's mostly if you use the the Standard sport or whatever it's called I Don't remember uh then it will try to Conserve energy it will even yeah it Will scavenge heat to try to save Save energy but in Cloud mode it will Keep the battery at higher temperature Which wasted some energy but you get

Better performance Okay I was just lifting up a little bit There just to anticipate there might be Some cutting in front of people not Paying attention so I have to pay Attention look at this sleeper holder Not a sleeper okay uh no I'm not gonna Flash uh they probably know uh I'm Coming from behind right That's in Europe no sorry isn't up Regular up I think it's a citigo me yeah Yeah okay Oh maybe I should just confident let's Say yeah maybe I'll camp and left it so Uh There's like a signal that okay is Some dude camping in left lane there's a Possibility that he's going Chanel right Yeah it seems like it was just bad luck In the beginning I was stuck behind Those campers now we the front traffic Flows way better And then 394 well we are still way below The consumption of the Tesla but all the Other tests I mean the model 3 but you Know I think the model 3 run at colder Temperatures yeah that's possible that's A possibility we have 19 degrees Celsius Now which is okay temperature this also Means that this is also like a heat wow Hot ish yeah stress test where you see That okay it's 19 degrees unfortunately We will not be able to hit 35 degrees But

It doesn't overheat at all at these Temperatures The problem is that if you want to hit 30 or 35 degrees Celsius that usually Happens during the daytime and during The daytime You will most likely not be able to go That fast because there will be campers In the left lane So yeah that's the thing you have to Also consider when when You think about different scenarios that Like Many many things they they depend on Each other so that Yeah I don't know Okay anyway I'll just shut up now And enjoy the ride but it seems like Once we started driving a little bit Then the shake hardly disappeared but It's not completely gone For the camera but it was usually the Highest ones you started driving Initially So um yeah so far so good And I'm actually surprised that it's six In the morning and I'm able to cruise at 200 kilometers per hour in the leftmost Lane here but I picked the right spot Because many other spots even though you Have unrestricted zone is is impossible To drive fast And even this Lane I mean this stretch Here oh good good

Would be impossible to drive fast in Just three four hours Because of holiday traffic But yeah so um let's see how far can we Actually drive at 200 that was a it's Always funny when the haters the EV Haters I do this just just for fun just to Figure out how far we can drive and then People be like oh you can only Drive uh the 150 kilometers per hour oh You know but yeah but how many places in The world can you actually cruise at 200 Kilometers per hour empty out the Battery that fast right So in a way it's almost a corner case Here But I like to test it to the extreme to See what the cars are capable of doing You know eventually we should start Testing other brands also not only Tesla Actually in the past I've been only been Able to test Tesla and Um it was the BMV I4 M50 Okay well you you guys need more work Yeah So I would like to test Mercedes because I think Mercedes Eqs Has also 0.2 drug coefficient but yeah Maybe five dollars oh no no don't do That you see this is oh man um oh no oh No no no you didn't use the mirror oh

Bad German bad German Okay just kidding okay I'm getting I'm Kidding I'm kidding was an old chap Right we might not have the best Eyesight The ninja reflexes and the skills But um what 40 minutes in okay so model 3 managed to go 133 kilometers well it Was a little bit of uh margin I don't Remember how I calculated but I I saw on The trip meter was 133 I can't even you Can extrapolate the the remaining but Maybe you don't want to go too deep Anyway when you go Snelling like that so Um But let's see now we already done 112 Kilometers and we still have 45 battery Left oh I'll have to slow down again Huh Oh okay we are getting close to the Turnaround point where we have to slow Down the speed limit soon But we can still push now yeah okay okay There's a score in the left lane Quick Pawn yeah turn around point that Quick Pawn yeah seems like there's some Resonance frequencies here because if I Go a little bit slower like now then uh Move move move please no Oh don't move Okay don't move okay whatever Man Yeah but once you hit around 200

Kilometers per hour then it seems like There is less vibration Okay uh Okay Let me see uh I also have to figure out Where I'm supposed to stop but no Concern because uh oh yeah yeah I see Seems like the closer to uh humble we Get the more traffic we have and the More left lane Huggers we have Um there is a supercharger around here Where we just passed it the Carlton Kitchen and then the north one where the River started from that's another Supercharger and then we also have some Some ionities In between here So um yeah I'll figure out I'll try to stop at one Of the superchargers of course because Uh I'm trying to burn some free Supercharging kilometers I have 2.1 million supercharger kilometers left So oh now we oh okay Now we're stuck behind a bunch of Traffic here So this of course will make the numbers Better I mean lower lower consumption Heat Seems to not be a problem so we can just Forget about the heat problem at least Well okay Um oh maybe it's a bad idea to turn Around that quick bone oh what was

That Some debris some littering I think it Was a glass it was a plastic Cup someone littered But um Maybe I should actually turn around Earlier Yeah I should do here I couldn't even Turn on here it was a bit late now yes Oh okay yeah that's way too late to Uh Because let's just go a little bit Further so yeah it will never be like a Strictly uh 200 kilometers per hour run You can't get a clean run anyway right Well unless you do it at night But okay I should try to use the mid lane while I Can and trying to be a good German here Wow a true drone may be like this oh Yeah And then stay here two seconds Oh okay All right but um But uh But uh Yeah okay another thing you know another Thing I should do is actually I haven't Had the opportunity to do it but I should do let's say 150 kilometers per Hour run so normally I don't do that for Obvious reasons because you can't go to 150 many places in the world Uh

Or some people might do that anyway in Other countries right like France to Poland Or Bulgaria or I don't know but um It would be interesting to test that Also because You will see that when you cruise at 150 Kilometers per hour and then it's a Completely different what the heck Is this Oh oh you're wondering because It's going to be style soon there's a Mother trucker oh scheissa Smoke On the water No but I can see what's gonna happen now Uh there might be some rescue stuff Coming and then they will block one lane Oh in the morning traffic there Will be style all over the place man so We have to turn around earlier so yeah I Guess that's um the name of the game Yeah And then we are coming over to the speed Limit soon yeah here here so now we need To slow down okay I'll get over to the Mid lane Slow down here All right Um Feels like okay maybe uh yeah okay I'll Go behind this van It will also exit Okay but um but you see yeah when we go

The extreme speeds like yesterday when I Hammered it you know 230 kilometers per Hour and Beyond then unfortunately Electric cars today they uh they seem to Have quite significant heat loss let me Drink some water here Huh Okay yep Whoa what was on it okay I'm saying that Yeah when you go at 230 right or Something then there's massive heat loss Seems like the batteries today today's Batteries yeah they um they haven't Developed that far yet so um there is um Uh or it's inefficient to drive at those Speeds that's what I'm saying uh Fostered cars they don't have those Disadvantages because You just go Schnell and no problem right But 200 kilometers per hour seems to be Way better at least now with this car But if you just look at for example Mill In the Falcon 10 year old Tesla 200 Kilometers per hour on that car Which is Less aerodynamic it has a worse Battery Tech smaller battery then 200 would be Bad for that one like 200 on that one I Assume would be like this one cruising At 230 right if you know what I mean Uh but my point is that if you cruise at Only 150 kilometers per hour then the Situation becomes way better And you can probably go quite far So uh

If I Had the Time wait maybe I should do It but then that's going to be way too Long video But yeah if I had the time I should Definitely do it just to prove a point That Today's electric cars They can't go quite fast you can cruise On the motorway For example 150 kilometers per hour Constantly And you will not have power limit and You will not have significant losses and You can probably like this Tesla here Can probably go Uh I'm not sure maybe Maybe at least 250 kilometers Yeah and of course this this guy he Refuses to move because He thinks he's faster than a Tesla you Know he moves now okay I just didn't know he didn't think Anything he was just he just wanted to It's called body I just wanted to Overtake one more car okay one more car All right you know that's that's what They do oh that's what they always do They see her mid lane hugger and then This guy needs to move over to the Leftmost Lane so it would be great if uh As the Germans would not have the Middle Lane Okay now that we have gotten a bit slow

In the past then I need to compensate by Going a little bit faster And also you have to avoid that truck we Saw so I have to turn around earlier oh Okay well I might need to turn around Earlier anyway because I'm running a Little bit low on juice now but also This is a part of the test to see what Happens once we go lower because Then a current needs to go up because Voltage drops a little bit But also you see that the Palladium has Higher voltage than the previous Generation Raven or before that one and A higher voltage means Yeah less slightly less losses so you Know we talk about eight on the one System being so awesome because you need Less current well Uh it doesn't have to be black and white You know you can even go higher voltage Like this yes Thank you thank you Dean man He had too much luggage he couldn't see Behind what was going behind him so I Had to help him yeah but then went back To the left lane after I passed him but Um Yeah so um so you see the voltage here Is 389 right now here yeah why it Depends on load But some other cars might have as low as 350 or even lower Especially yeah especially when you

Handles you know like 85 pack with Tesla And then only General when you have a Big pack from from the model And then you have a smaller pack what They usually do is they remove some Modules and then many many times those Smaller packs they have a lower voltage Than the the bigger pack which is a Slight disadvantage in my opinion Uh but maybe that's just how it is if They would redesign it to have higher Voltage or the same voltage maybe then How did you do it then I'm not sure but This Volvo is actually going quite fast I wonder what the consumption is what is An xc40 Always read no charge port is on the Side that's that's uh that's a plug-in Hybrid If the charge was in the back then That's the pure Electric Okay but anyway uh now we're just gonna Head to the north most point again and Then I'll figure out what where to stop A charge So um Yeah wow 140 kilometers so far okay we Beat the old record at least but you see Okay so If I had the opportunity and if if this Video gets lots of views maybe I should Test the eqs because eqs has a bigger Battery it has good drug coefficient Uh can it go further than the Tesla or

Farther I think it's called farther yeah Far farther yeah Jumper camper come on no are you Planning on Camp oh And it's not it's going almost the same Speed as the oh there's a Dane Again With too much luggage in the back yeah I Mean you can't see behind him Oh come on come on come on come on Come alongside Oh man wow Oh rain Faster Nine This might improve this might increase The consumption slightly because the Road gets wet Okay I feel like I need to move over in Case that dude wants to okay Yeah let me just sleep in the left lane For a bit Yeah so rain makes it makes a slight Impact on the consumption and also drops The temperature And then I don't know about moisture you Know evaporates and stuff like that so Yeah no I have I have rain next on the Windscreen so I don't have to use the Wipers So yeah Um I'm supposed to leave oh you know what I Have an idea

Yeah because um I have to be in Berlin Oh no no yeah I have to be in Berlin tonight Oh I'm not paying attention there man I Don't I don't have a Temple Mount at These beats So I was planning on leaving uh around here Soon for Berlin to avoid traffic Yeah maybe I should do that I can do the 100 I want to do 150 kilometers per hour Test I think I can do that at night on the Way back instead Oh well rain well okay whatever Okay that guy moves over here Oh I just remembered maybe yeah Okay I need to set manual focus Otherwise it will try to focus on the Droplets I'm not sure sorry if it was a Bit blurred well not blurry it was focus On the droplets maybe earlier So you didn't see much of the road Man these guys Okay uh 29 Um yeah I see that when I turn around at The North Point I will not have enough Juice to go to Quick Pawn anyway so I Would just turn around and go south Again soon and then go uh half Loop and Then go back to the supercharger But uh So in wet yet So I just want to finish this before it

Gets too wet oh Another traffic on the other side is Going slow ah Oh well seems like this today was not The day for the testing man Don't What inside what inside it's probably Going to yeah I think the body side is Going to the to the trucker On fire Yeah I better get out of here soon Because there will be massive style in The South area Um okay okay there we go let me see 16 Kilometers for the exit Oh it's getting wetter over here Oh Just have to be careful Yeah I see now I can see on the on the Surface Oh I mean I see on the on the cars we Passed that it's getting wetter and Wetter because actually when I don't Have cars in front of me I don't have an Idea I can see it on the mirror so yeah I'm whipping up a lot of water here this Creates I mean this sucks a lot of extra Energy like massive amount of extra Energy So um yeah we just have to uh no uh the Circumstances That if this was a dry run it would be Better But we also draw slow so you can say it

Compensates for it so you can count it Yeah roughly 200 kilometers per hour ish Right on Dry Road Yeah Okay Well I don't want to drive too fast Right now Yeah because of that And the campers are out now Foreign Ly in Germany you can't drive fast on The Autobahn and when it's wet outside In France you have to certainly reduce Speed to 110 kilometers per hour but of Course I want to use common sense also If I feel like it's way too wet then I Don't want to go to Chanel Oh this hat is is it supposed to be That much rain huh You see this is always interesting Because when I look at the weather Forecast it was not supposed to be like This but that was Three four days ago but then that's just The forecast Well I'll just keep it I will stay I'll Camp in the left lane oh oh no I see the Problem now oh on the way back Okay well whatever Um let's at least try to go as fast as Possible here Yeah Oh yeah this this surface is uh what They call it purus so the water doesn't

Accumulate it just I think it drains In the asphalt Wow the traffic is going so slow in the Other direction now Because of the rain But I should also plan to go back to the Superchargers soon But then once I navigate the Supercharger it will pre-heat yeah you Will see in the numbers we'll start Preheating Oh Yeah okay His wife a little bit tried to get rid Of the bugs 164 kilometers so far okay okay let's Keep hammering Uh yeah I have a navigator to Supercharger yet but let's do it now do It do it now you see find the super Daughter There okay let's see oh all right it's Uh it's nearby So I'm not sure what the car will do in Terms of reheating Damn it's wet in the north oh Holy macaroon is wet up here Didn't expect it to be that wet huh Where you see it's not only me hammering There's a van in front that goes quite As fast oh Okay not oh slow down Not just regioning I'm trying to not use The brake too much for uh for more

Efficiency Since this is a Consumption run right right are you Sleeping Are you sleeping Oh okay there's a bunch of sleepers here Um okay well I don't want to what what Uh yeah Okay I need to uh Turn around in two kilometers Foreign I think the car now tries to uh maintain Temperature and at least stop cooling The battery it's anticipating that we Will go to the supercharger soon Well okay we're down to 20 uh I will go A little bit extra before we go to the Supercharger And the wiper can be adjusted now from The steering wheel completely you just You just you press the the white button Once and then you scroll up with the Left wheel and we can switch on auto for Example like this Okay that guy wants to uh From there I'll go here And then we turn around And then seems like we managed to Include everything in this lock Some style I mean some traffic some Sleepers some rain Okay yeah now it's an auto and it just Goes like that uh Okay let me go back here

And then we have to see what it looks Like Oh it's going slow oh it's going Slow oh go go go go go go no oh Okay but he he went for it but um I had To wait there So I have 20 battery left Um 18 uh Kilowatt hour 18.4 kilowatt hour I'm not sure how far I should move Before I go back to the charger or I Could try to reach Carlton kitchen Children instead Does that make any sense no I mean it doesn't matter really Let me check here Correctly Kitchen is 30 kilometers away in the South Yeah maybe I'll just go for that one It's not too important that we start and End at the same point here since the Elevation well I mean it's quite flat Over here Uh the only problem now is that I can't Really go at 200. Because of the rain and because of the Traffic But these are trying to go 170 something Until it stops I think further south the Rain is supposed to stop or I mean it Hasn't started So wait should I stop wiping

Just let it Let it deflect instead Whatever works for me I think over here yeah this one is one Of the ionte Chargers I think And then the other one is on the other Side so there's one ionity on each side Around here Yeah sorry for the shake And then traffic now okay 175 why wait so it means that I think on a good run on a good day We should be able to go almost 200 Kilometers per hour Yeah I mean it makes sense because the Consumption I think the real consumption Is around 400 watt hour per kilometer Right including losses Uh So if we have 88 kilowatt hour That's that's roughly 440 watt power per Kilometer including losses which was 200 Kilometer Yeah that's not too bad okay not too bad Would you love to see then when we go 150 kilometers per hour then we should At least be able to go 300 I I assume Yeah I can see that further south there Then we have less rain You just have to deal with the sleepers Here No okay maybe no no no okay okay yeah

It's called butter there's one more okay I just want to pass one more and then he Will yeah okay All right Um anyway 16 well I'm not sure do I have Enough juice to go to that charger Uh Uh well it's only 22 kilometers away Carlton kitchen 22 kilometers away and then if I look at The 14 kilowatt hour okay so if I Average 400 watt hour per kilometer that That is only nine kilowatt hour yeah Okay I think that's fine I will arrive With five kilowatt hour left which is Like seven percent left Oh or maybe not Because uh we are stuck behind slow Pokes now oh oh Welcome to Deutschland in summer Everyone gangbang is gold Deutschland Because uh yeah it's in the middle of Europe so all the mother truckers and All the campers and holiday people they Drive through Germany We're down the roads and then there's More Boston It seems like I need to wipe because Otherwise you guys don't see much okay Okay yeah let's just wipe them I think this was the big chunk I saw Earlier a whole bunch of campers in uh Yeah Yeah yep yep

It's actually just one car oh With a With a roof rack on top yeah Oh okay There we go A roof box I mean this one thing of Course Dane with roof box Yeah that's Doom to go slow man Hmm No no no don't do that dude are you Crazy man Using mirrors I was about to hammer you I had to slow down because of that guy It seems like many people they put on The blinker they start moving slightly Left and then they look in the mirror I would usually look in the mirror first Before I even tried to put on any Blinkers So um Yeah And then battery okay what how Interesting Inlet is dropping now oh Yeah I think the cars knows that once it Arrives the battery will be hot enough So that's why it's not preheating with All the Reached the the desired temperature for Uh best super dotting speed Yeah I feel like we have slightly less Power now So Wait okay whatever just use the use the Wiper I was wondering if I should turn

Off the wipers uh maybe they are oh That's bullied side Do they do they care no you see only in In Germany you can Hammer the police While doing 190 kilometers per hour Okay should we exit here I mean soon In 12 kilometers Uh yeah oh what the heck is that shake Oh yeah it's a surface also a Combination of the surface plus that we Have slightly Imbalanced Wheels seems like Because you know you can balance the Wheels to work fine on most roads right You drive at 100 even 120 kilometers per Hour 130 40. no problem But then suddenly when you drive a 200 Kilometers per hour then you notice that Hey there is some imbal here Yeah So uh Normally when you balance the wheels There might be a slight I mean it's not 100 balanced But it's good enough But then if you want to have the best Balance you have to sometimes rotate the Wheel a bit because the tire is not Perfectly round So there's a little bit of weight on one Side than the other so what you do is That you flip the tire and you rotate The tire versus the

The weights Because you also don't want to put too Much weight In one on one side I wonder if it was around like you Shouldn't go more than 180 grams I've Seen over 100 grams Which is a bit bad Okay yeah we're done okay we're less Than 10 now Oh what I thought I had more juice What oh it's the lost man oh we have More losses at the lower state of charge Maybe look at that I have supposedly only eight kilowatt Hour left Uh What about actually no that's yeah no Problem no problem I might No problem okay over here the road is Dry so I feel like I can hammer it Okay Let's go let's go final run Lero Jenkins Yeah we need to compensate by going a Little bit faster now Let's go for constant Christian I don't think we should hit any uh Star Wars I think yeah Yeah the only fall is for the loud sound We finally run So that's it how to spend the battery in One hour

And 13 minutes Oh Wow 197 ah okay okay that's 200 Kilometers that's legit right is that Legit yeah if I would redo this test on The dry roads with no traffic I'm pretty sure I can go uh 200 kilometers per hour so that's a big Improvement over the model 3. Oh oh sleeper sleeper sleeper It'll be a Dane of course oh Okay you see I'm flooring it now 250 Kilowatt power only Yeah at the bottom it this is the the Reality I have to get ready to exit now Okay okay yeah six percent I think That's uh that's good enough we uh we Can call it a day Still 1.7 kilometers left let's go past These guys All right Then here Uh yeah okay let's get over to the mid Lane get ready to exit So yeah um These tests are always hard to get it Right you know you have to get the right Traffic you have to get the right Weather Of Uh of course avoid any power Stella or Any accident events you know So Because I'm also thinking about

Discarding this test but I I I'll Probably keep it Um Since it's so hard to get it right and Also also I like that we do this in the Daytime so we can at least see something Other than just the dark roads and just A bunch of light all over the place so Yeah now I can hear the fans going a Little bit but it's not that hard or That high And okay okay I have power limits but It's still really fun I can show you Here It goes like a rocket oh so yeah Because now that we let the battery uh Rest a little bit then you see that we Have 300 kilowatt power and that's a lot Of power I'm supposed to go here I'm Being a bad driver I'm not paying Attention because this is actually the Second time I'm here so I'm not too Familiar around here yeah my excuse I Could be an F1 driver Okay and then over here we have the Supercharger See Oh a Lego oh yeah So I have to crunch some numbers Um Yeah let's see Let's get a spot first oh it's kind of Busy okay okay let me just take this one Yeah I for some reason like to back up

Into the charger Like this All right And that completes the test Um okay wait wait before I plug in Okay there before I plug in I have to Write down here so we started with for What I remember I need to correct if I'm Right around 88.8 kilowatt hour Uh and then we ended up with you can see Here 5.6 kilowatt hour But the car reported using 77.1 kilowatt hour Yeah and we drove 203 kilometers wow Impressive Okay Um So I think we have all the numbers we Need uh Let's uh plug it in just want to see how Fast do we charge Because this was also the oh and Then then it bugs out yeah sometimes the Data overflows and then this happens Um when they did the the yo-yo test or You know the the highest speed test uh The battery was so hot that it actually Replicated after I shut down the video I Saw that it was charting slower than Usual So uh yeah now we just have to wait a Little bit until the car uh sorry until The car scanner refreshes the data but

We want to see how fast we charge now Yeah it has that slow down you see here Um it goes a little bit slow in the Beginning As usual and then we should hit 250 Kilowatt but this this time though we Will not have any uh And a rapid gate but I will crunch some Numbers now while we're waiting for that One let me see uh So 88.8 minus 5.6 So we spent 83.2 kilowatt hour Versus 77.1 Oh so that's interesting that's seven Percent loss Roughly yeah Okay that's the same as the model 3 had But way less than when I hammered hard That was 12 percent loss So um Yeah and that means that uh the Consumption was 380 reported by a car Scanner And I can calculate uh the actual Consumption We just we just look at 88 Point oh yeah We look at 83.2 kilowatt hour Which we actually spent was divided by 203 kilometers and then so the the Actual consumption was 400 and 10 Watt hour per kilometer So yeah I mean it's lower than the model 3 run

But uh I have to look at the data I Think the model 3 room was colder it was At night So it would be interesting to try Another car if you guys are up for it oh There you go now we have 250 kilowatt And it should have it should be 250 Kilowatt flat now until uh around 25 at Least Um But uh it would be interesting to try This with Eqs Or yeah Every request I would look at percentage Since I don't have any car scanner stuff Working with igress I would look at how Many percent we spend and then I base Based on the percent I will know roughly How many kilowatt hours we spend Actual kilowatt hour versus what the car Reports so we can also calculate loss Heat loss Right because of high speed So but it depends on how much views it Gets because taking an eqs over here uh That takes some time man Um I actually wanted to take an egress Here that was the eqs formatic plus uh The 43 or whatever 53 I think it was Called the beefy quest with the over Almost 700 horsepower Obviously more I don't remember but it Had winter tires on it was in I think it

Was in March when I had that eqs so uh Yeah Didn't feel like it but um if you guys Are interested I could consider doing it With a known Tesla to see how they Perform right Well okay anyway Um now we've seen it you see this one it Just stays flat and I think we're done With the test so what should I conclude With um Yeah a conclusion is that It Tesla performs well you can cruise at 200 kilometers per hour we were just Limited by traffic but even if okay you Could say yeah you had some cool down Because traffic went slower yeah but we Saw on the temperature here that it It was not affected at all when I hammer It versus when I was stuck behind left Lane sleepers it was the same the car Could perform all the way until the very End okay when we had 10 20 left and There was some power limit but other Than that the car was uh Flawless no no Power limit no power gate or stuff like That uh yeah Because that was actually not the case With the BMV I4 M50 But I think even for that car I even Tried to cruise at 200 kilometers per Hour a little bit over sometimes but I Didn't do that crazy hammering but the M The I4 M50 did in fact overheat and you

Didn't get the 544 horsepower it was Limited to around I don't remember maybe Around 400 something horsepower Yeah and now the cooling starts But at least for plaid no problem So it would also be interesting to try For example the latest and greatest Model 3 Performance which is more Affordable to see how that one performs Will it get any power limits Or not But okay Um I would like to get some feedback From you guys what you're interested and Then I will consider what to do versus How much time it takes because it's Really time consuming to come over here I usually need around two full days if I Want to conduct some tests around here But okay anyway Um I hope you guys enjoyed the video as Always thank you for watching and talk To you later

Electric City Vehicles Cars Power

About Electric City Vehicles Cars Power

EVs drive on electricity, recapture energy when decelerating and coasting, and produce far less pollution than gasoline-powered cars. They can be recharged at home, work, or public charging stations. The average EV uses less than half as much energy to travel the same distance as the average new gas-powered car.

Some EVs run exclusively, or almost exclusively, on electricity until the battery is nearly empty, when a gasoline engine kicks in to provide additional power. Others, called PHEVs (plug-in hybrid electric vehicles), use both gasoline and electricity, so they can travel on the same basis as traditional gasoline-powered vehicles for as long as their batteries hold a charge.

Unlike the EPA fuel-economy ratings for gasoline-powered cars, which only indicate highway efficiency, electric vehicles are rated for both city and highway driving. For most EVs, the highway rating is a little lower than the city figure, because the high-speed cruising of a highway is less efficient for an electric motor.

As EVs become more prevalent, they can help strengthen local resilience in the event of an emergency that shuts down the grid. The cars can be equipped to export their stored energy, which is useful in the case of a prolonged blackout or an ice storm that prevents long-distance transmission lines from carrying juice down from renewable resources to the big cities. EV drivers can help stabilize the grid by practicing “smart charging”: plugging in their cars when demand on the electricity system is low, such as during midday solar production or during the night when wind resources are at their peak.
