This video was brought to you by a Battery planner cam power Marcus Beale Steinberg and Bill componente Yo what's up in this video I'm gonna Show you guys how fast the Maxis et90 is Charging it has lfp battery around 90 Kilowatt hour okay let's fire up the Video so you see that this time I'm Actually charging on the V3 supercharger Actually V2 or I don't remember but it Doesn't matter Um and then the hun I also include Han It's a Chinese car also with lfp but Then was trying to find other cars also With lfp and I just found the model y so Yeah we should compare lfp batteries Between each other but at least the Model Y is a lot smaller but you see That the model Y is charging way faster Because it's Tesla it's using Um alien technology way but even harness Charging faster so this is a big mystery Why the maxus chose to charge so slow I Mean you can say well but it's lfp you Know but just look at Tesla look at the Other cars they're charging way faster Than 1890 why I'm not sure because it Could when I charge on ION 10 I saw the Number of amps It seems like the et9 is limited to 200 M so I've seen this in Chinese cars Before they just they don't care about Charging speed which is weird and they Just charge dog slow
Um and then also another thing I'll Point out is that so you see that we get 76 kilowatts 75 77 is actually Peak Um but we never see 80 kilowatt According to spec but when you charge on Ionic team 400 volt Chargers then you Get only around 69 kilowatt so or 185 Amps roughly instead of 200 amps and This is the so-called Chinese bug yeah I Invented that name hongshi has the same Problem when you are charging on 400 Volt charges with hongshi or with this Et90 you will get maximum speed but as Long as you're charging on 800 volt Charges like ionity hypercharger or most Other ABB or you know then you get Reduced speed for some reason I don't Know how why it's like this but this is This is Chinese cars and by the way Han Yeah we just saw up to three recently Han you see that Han also over here Han Rapid Gates and this hunt does not have Any lead bar in the front so people were Saying ah Bjorn you have lead bar you Know your chest is invalid well what About the hand it overheats at the exact Same temperature and you see there there At 44 degrees it cools down it has the Exact same behavior as the the auto Three once it cools down boom you get 125 kilowatt oh yeah and then oh no oh No it overheats oh no oh no rapid gas Again yeah But look at this man model Y is
Already at 73 percent in the 1890s only At 42 and it's like David versus Goliath Because Et90 has way bigger battery than model y But still the model y charges way faster You know in terms of C rating it's just Miles ahead of the Chinese cars there so Yeah Um what else should I say man Um But okay Um so at least it's it's um uh you can Say that the the charting uh the Charting curve on the et90 is at least Nice and flat is just consistently slow Yeah It's super flat and resistant you know Uh e-tron go home and there's nothing to Show you guys the 80 90 it just charges So flat doing one thousand kilometer Challenge I didn't have Colgate okay When I plugged in that I honestly I got Only 69 kilowatts it's not a little bit Lower than spec well it turns out it's Not Colgate it's just the Chinese bug so During one thousand kilometers this is The ultimate stress test I was I was Driving at the maximum speed all the Time which is 120 kilometers per hour on The 1890 okay not all the time not Through Oslo not through the city but at Least outside the city right on the Autobahn the Norwegian Autobahn Um so it did not hold it and it did not
Replicate so in that regard yes it is Super consistent but also keep in mind That the power the power output is Really low so um yeah Model y already hit 90 The 89 is only at 60. Hun but basically Han is also slower Than model y Um but I mean okay you guys said I like your videos but uh why do you Compare small battery versus big battery Well remember that we are looking at State of charge we are comparing state Of charge in this test and in that term Then C rating also matters so the model Y even though it has a smaller battery It actually reaches the the the whatever State of the charge right 90 before Han So Han is a little bit disappointing When it comes to charging speed Um well now you see that the past 80 or 85 hunt just just plummets goes quite Slow we will see that the et90 is not Like that but yeah model y just goes 100 Why not there's a okay whatever your Your Chinese cars you know I mean also I Can also Comment on that why the heck is a Tesla Charging so much faster well first of All you see that the Delta between the Tesla and the Tesla battery it has a Smaller belt only three degrees Celsius 45 to 48 degrees whereas Han has 34 to 41 and you can expect et9 you to have
Something similar I'm not sure why it's Like that poor design maybe a Tesla Probably has better thermal design on The cell and on the cooling on whatever You know so they can then have better Delta between Min and Max which is Somewhat important when you are charging Fast so you want to wrap it you don't Wanna you wanna avoid replicate and Colgate yeah model y already finished 101 percent there I stopped the model y Session there Han is getting there kind Of but here let me show you that yeah The et90 I forgot to mention it but at 79 the Dodge throttling a little bit but It has a a nice and gentle throttling so At least the charging the charting curve Is is I mean it's it's fairly flat so You can actually go to for example 90 Percent before you yeah Before you stop I haven't even yeah I Also charged past 90 to around 95 it was Still going at okay speed but pause 95 Then it started going a little bit slow So then maybe it's time to unplug maybe It's time to pull out before it's too Late But yeah so um other than that not much Else to say yeah so I mean why again Back to the wrong Point why are Chinese Cars charging slower probably because They don't they just have poor design on The on the battery pack and then we see Whether this is just kilowatt if we
Would uh look at the C rating instead it Would be completely different because The model Y is let me say 60 kilowatt Hour is it's uh charging at over 2C Whereas this one is only less than one C But yeah model Y is charging way faster It has this more typical curve like this And then here you can almost see like They kept it maybe uh maybe the charge Plug on the et90 doesn't support more Than 200 amp right you know maybe they Don't have more than 200 app in China so That's why but if we would extrapolate The curve Um I would assume that the kind of like Here yeah the the et90 should be able to Take 200 kilowatt easy for a little bit And doesn't have a gentle yeah you know If you guys can see it you can visualize It right and then Han is like this man Bringing Chinese cars comes here and Then rapid gate and then it cools down You know why why does it look like this Because here is when it replicates 46 Degrees that's just boom and then but Then the charge is only 70 something Kilowatt and then that is um uh well Actually I think yeah that is good Enough for the battery to cool down a Little bit until it hits 44 degrees Celsius then and then it gets a little Bit of speed but then at higher higher Charge rate then it rapidly gets again And then broom and then it goes like
This yeah made in China so yeah now you Guys have seen it the charging Um my comment to this after driving the Et90 the maxus on one thousand Kilometers doing some ranges and stuff Is that the charging speed on the maxus Is the biggest downside the bigger I can Live with the lack of cruise control or No navigation or you know you can always Use some kind of screen mirror ring There or just snap your phone on the on The phone holder uh you I can live with Lack of convenient features in the the Et90 but the fact that it charges slow So slow makes it almost useless for some Use cases for example if you're trying To pull a trailer Just to forget about it okay you can Pull the trailer on short trips yes that Works but if you pull let's say a Caravan on a holiday like the car itself Is already quite thirsty which means That I can already estimate based on my Test that Um you have roughly 260 watt hour per Kilometer that the car the truck itself Consumes plus a caravan so we're talking About roughly 500 450 to 500 watt hour Per kilometer if you're cruising at 90 Kilometers per hour Um and then based on the battery Capacity here you can drive Um yeah Um not 200 kilometers because the car
Goes into some limp mode apart the limb Mode and it gets worse and worse it Starts around 10 11 it starts which Means that if you're pulling a caravan You should pull out uh maybe when you Have 10 15 right and that means that the Practical range if you charge 100 is on The 150 kilometers but maybe more common Use cases only around 120 kilometers We're then talking about driving 120 Kilometers at 90 kilometers per hour Which takes about one and a half hours You drive one and a half hour but then You have to charge for freaking one hour So if they just boost the charging speed To at least 150 or 200 kilowatts and I Work out that if the plug supports 500 Amp it should at least be able to take 185 kilowatt right uh fairly flat Whatever they want to do and that will Actually fix it or that will make the Car way more usable now it kind of Narrows down you can use it for local Runs you can do the soccer mom runs you Can as a contractor locally yeah that Works you can even pull some trailer but As long as you don't drive more than 150 200 kilometers with a little bit of Charging brake in between but some kind Of Europe trip or I mean cross-country Trip across across Europe trip with a Caravan Ain't gonna work buddy so yeah at least That's my uh two and a half cents wait
Is that how you say it yeah okay anyway But that's gonna be it for now I hope You guys enjoyed this video as always Thank you for watching and talk to you Later

Electric City Vehicles Cars Power
About Electric City Vehicles Cars Power
With the price of gas and electricity these days it may not make sense to own a large car in the city. With a smaller footprint and sleek design, an electric vehicle (EV) may be the answer.
EVs are quiet and smooth to drive, with instant power from a stop. They can also recapture energy from braking and reuse it during acceleration, reducing the need for friction brakes that wear out faster than traditional ones. Some EVs have more cargo space than others, depending on whether you choose a hatchback or sedan.
In addition to comparing EPA fuel-efficiency estimates, look for an electric car’s driving range rating. This reflects how far you can travel on a single charge, though keep in mind that most EVs have different city and highway ratings, because a car’s efficiency is greater at lower speeds and less powerful engines.
Fully electric vehicles require fewer parts than gasoline cars, so they typically cost less to maintain. They don’t need routine oil changes or tune-ups, and they can recharge at home or a public charging station in as little as 36 minutes. Some EVs offer additional roadside assistance, as well, with many automakers offering a few months free or discounted service to drivers who buy new cars.
