About Electric City Vehicles Cars Power
As electric vehicles are gaining in popularity, many cities and businesses are stepping up to provide the charging infrastructure they need. For example, in New York City, NYC DOT has installed 120 public Level 2 EV chargers at curbside locations. The chargers are managed by a local company called FLO. The goal is to give drivers easy access to recharging on long trips or when they can’t make it home in time for their electric car to recharge. In addition to installing EV chargers, companies like Tesla and GM are partnering with municipalities and auto dealers to offer EV incentives that are designed to help bring the cost of an EV down for all Americans.
For example, the GM Bolt and Volt offer a $7,500 rebate to buyers, as well as a $500 incentive for installing an EV charger. This is part of a multi-year effort that aims to get 100,000 EVs on the road by 2023.
Ford GM Power Manufacturing
Manufacturers have also made big investments in EV production facilities and battery technology. Some, such as Nissan, have accelerated plans to phase out gasoline-powered cars and trucks in favor of all-electric models. Other companies, such as Anheuser-Busch and FedEx, have committed to electrifying their fleets and installing charging stations. These efforts, along with private investment by companies including Blink Charging, are creating good-paying jobs in America and bringing EV manufacturing back home.
