This video was brought to you by a Battery planner cam power Marcus Beale Steinberg and Bill componente Yo what's up we are now sitting in the Neo et5 touring and in this video I'm Going to take it for test drive we are Now in a in a press event uh there are Several cars in the group and I managed To get the car for myself that's awesome We will see how this car drives compared To the regular et5 the one the Non-touring that's it on version so First thing I'll show that this car has The new bunion 2.0 software wait maybe I Should turn off no Min it's going to be Like me all the time Uh where the heck was numi again No me no me is listening okay what can I Can I turn off know me okay Nome is off Now Suppose there all right good good so Um I'll show the new feature here that That is uh pretty cool is that here when You go into the the mode mode button There's a different screen now and then Uh previously I always had to set custom Mode because I prefer to have the region On standard or stronger region now you Can actually set standard region here All the way low you see if you set Comfort mode to be standard and you Switch to eco mode that one is low You'll be like hey what the heck but if You go switch to back to comfort you see That it remembers the the region setting
For each mode that is very nice man Um okay so let's start with the Comfort Mode with standard region New feature is also sand mode and wet Mode but I don't think we'll be able to Test that for now and then but one brand Thing is that if you want to go out to The screen it stays on for a long time Now which I think is nice because Previously the mode button I mean yeah The dry mode button will show up briefly And then disappear after 10 seconds Which was a bit annoying now on the Other hand if I keep pressing this one Then I cycle through the different modes Uh okay Um but how do you get rid of it then Uh I don't know I just touched something and then they Disappeared Um other than that I'm going to show you Some some other cool feature before we Start driving is that um if you go here On the doors and windows so Windows now Have been this one is dimmable it's now Getting pretty dark I'm going to set it To transparent it will then slowly Change the the uh the brightness but it Will not change it will not make it Non-transparent or diffuse it works in a Different way I can actually see maybe You guys can see it the edges actually Starts going a little bit brighter and They say it takes two minutes before you

Degrees Celsius It actually seems to to give me Comfortable temperature Um yeah So I've been I'm talking so much too Much lately But 21 here actually seems nice and Comfortable Uh unlike uh wait how do I over the web Unlike most Chinese cars when if you set It to 20 degrees at 21 degrees Celsius It's going to be freezing cold because They've been tuned for uh I don't know Hot Asian countries and 21 over there is Is called actually yeah So maybe the the tune it for more Western taste cars yeah so that's good Normally just in comparison normally I Would have the HVAC on 25 degrees Celsius to have it okay temperature not Hot of course not too hot not too cold But also wonder by the way now we should Talk about the cars driving Dynamics um Since this is a touring there is a box There is more steel and more stuff in The back so the the regular et5 I Measure it on the scale it's perfect 50 50 weight distribution So if they put more stuff in the back There then the weight shifts a little Bit so that they must do something To change the weight distribution or Maybe they just allow let's say 51 where Rare 49 front which for example uh I

I'm not sure Okay let me just change it there's a Merging going on soon so I just hug the Left lane a little bit so I might not Have the best Lane discipline right now But because I'm focus more on the video But yeah so that that's what I noticed When I draw the et5 which is that it Felt I mean for a Chinese car that Doesn't cost that much okay especially When you go for bus then It feels and rides And has the comfort as way more Expensive cars really man you know Neo Is actually I wonder if that's one of The best Chinese cars you can or Chinese Brands you can buy yeah Really really impressive now I can get Over to this Lane yeah I don't want to Hook it too long okay I forgot to check what kind of tires we Have but okay now it slows down the push Oh okay one thing I noticed by the way If I'm in Sport Plus I know if you've Seen it every time I do like a little Bit of jolt over there Of the throttle and then just like that But in a plaid which has twice as much Horsepower as this car you know then I Don't get this one because Um and also in the eqs you don't get This thing here because my impression is That my claim is that Tesla and Mercedes And BMV they tune the throttle better so
You can actually have a smooth ride even If you are in the most like a sport Boost or the Plaid mode or whatever Right you will still have a nice ride Here um You can say well stop complaining Bjorn Because if you're in Sport Plus you're Supposed to be in the sportiest mode Yeah but why can't you have a little bit Of both because the throttle response Now is completely different than when I Have the other modes but if you haven't Some of the other modes uh you won't be Able to get the maximum power and the Maximum of situation So that's uh yeah so Yeah that's it but I'm just a little bit Of touch on this throttle and I just let Me see and let me see on the on the Power meter here what kind of kilowatt Numbers are we getting slow down a Little bit And then 400 and I saw 414 kilowatt oh game over Oh well we have to pay attention I'm gonna exit soon and this is also Something I uh I complained about for a While it says that in in 509 meters it's We're gonna exit in 444 meters in 421 Meters in 402 meters 383 meters 333 meters Current I mean it's samples at a given Frequency the distance before we exit But it's weird that it doesn't round up

Um how is the car to drive well Unfortunately we are not on some twisty Roads I'm not able to test it too hard And also this structure just happened to Be on somewhat boring road with low Speed limits uh Lots of city Environments and then okay that guy is Long okay Region is good Yeah let me see let me check I'm going To get a feel the region no I tried Recently the the smart #one it's actually called smart hashtag One not smart number one this is Something that smart claims you know you Know it's called hashtag one okay Yeah but in a smart hashtag one Um I didn't like the the feel of the pedal And the region and I think the same was For the Seeker zero zero one again it's Not called Circa one zero zero Um and I think I figure out what the Problem is with those cars is that there Is a lag in the there's a lug in the Region But they're also a lag in the in the Throttle and that becomes a problem Because if you ever try to move a cursor And you have lag in the cursor you you Really have a hard time trying to place It on the button and you you're always Compensating for over compensating for For the lag or you don't yeah you know
You know what I mean and the same thing Goes for throttle so I'm gonna try to Get a feel feel now um I think with the Other car it's smarter than them Mentioned there is like a half second Lag or maybe just 300 milliseconds but That is long enough for you to it messes Up your brain and you're trying to get a Certain level of region with your foot But you don't get it immediately so you Your foot is your brain is over Compensating and that's why we get this Weird Like you get suddenly more region than You like and then you get less region Than you like or more power than you Like so but if I get a feel on this one Um what I'm looking for here is that When I accelerate it should come fairly Quick and now in Comfort mode Okay there is this delay okay that's a Little bit unfortunate but you can Always switch this over into sport let's Try let's try Custom again Okay let me try again yeah Then you have that But yeah then it's more more instant but What I would like to see is To not have this crazy over aggressive Throttle same thing actually in when you Go in sport mode in the corner but I Want to have it in Comfort mode But don't not have this this delay you Know you know what I mean this delay
Yeah but still have it tuned slightly Differently so you at least you have Some power but also no delay but okay That's fine I mean I can yeah the Problem is that when they want to Accelerate I do this and then it comes Gradually that's fine but one very Important thing here is that when a Region Let me get a feel here it comes Gradually Yeah I feel like when I when I Let off It comes gradually it doesn't come Instantly I would wish it to come Slightly more instantly just like a Tesla or many other cars are tested Message every time I mention Tesla I'll Be on your life Tesla because that's Your favorite car and everything that is Not tested by it's not good no but most Money other cars also for example Mercedes BMV they also have a different Feel on the region Um this one though is not as bad as uh As a smart hashtag one So typically I would be driving like This you know in some sporty situation And then I let off and then the region Comes but it comes gradually which is Not my favorite I want the region to Come a little bit more instant but of Course not too harsh in the BMV ix-3 it It comes too much it comes too hard

It's only 13 000 look extra or uh 1 200 Euro extra and you get this one so I Think this is going to be a best selling Norway at least nor Wegians they they really love the Station wagons and up until now there Hasn't been many stations wagon out There but also if you're also looking For some like a family car in this price Range I mean it's in Norway no it's so Cheap that you can you can expect this Et5 with some winter wheels and some Goodies even wait wait how to how To go no I can't turn here Um We have a we have a vit Rule now that if The car costs more than 500 000 nuke uh You have to pay vat of that amount above 500 000 but you can spec this one another The starting price is uh is uh 430k Roughly and then you can even get around 60k in Nook of goodies and it will still Be below the 500k limit because you have Boss you you rent the battery rather Than buying it so yeah if you consider How good this car is versus uh how much It cost and that you have battery swap And you can get future updates then It's a no-brainer it's actually a Freaking rubber on our way back on the Starting point So um yeah I need to test it tomorrow I Tested the et5 also at the regular 85

Electric City Vehicles and the Power Grid
The gasoline engine won the automotive technology war long before World War II, but electric cars remained useful for low-speed, short-range uses. Britain maintained a fleet of electric “milk floats” for home delivery into the 1980s, and Japan kept producing its 1947 Tama model (later Datsun/Nissan) into the 1990s.
Today’s electric car is designed to be a fully capable everyday car with an impressive range between charges. That enables drivers to bypass the gas pump and avoid paying high petroleum prices, while also lowering maintenance costs because of fewer mechanical parts.
As more and more of us choose to drive EVs, the nation’s power grid will need to make sure it can handle the extra demand for electricity. The good news is that the grid can do it—but it will require some changes in how electricity is produced and delivered.
EVs typically use a 120-volt outlet for charging, which takes longer than filling up a gasoline vehicle. Plugging in at work or home using the same 240-volt outlets used by laundry dryers and electric ovens is faster (and called Level 2 charging). Those chargers are relatively easy to install at homes, although they may require a permit.
If you’re looking at a used EV, check how many miles it has on its battery and whether the original owner had the battery replaced. It’s more common than you might think to have a battery replaced early on, and higher-mile vehicles are more likely to have had the warranty extended. Also, look for a seller that can show you proof of the replacement warranty coverage.
