Long range now we have 82 kilowatt hour And also the old one peaked at 150 Kilowatt joining now we have 205 Kilowatt big upgrade And then also previously the pole star Was either A front pin drive or an Orville Drive Which in my opinion is bad design is Traditionally signed but now it's Ravel Drive or overdrive so um I maybe I Should have a little speech about why I Think EV should be either Raven drive or All-wheel drive because Frontier Drive Is I mean it makes sense for fossil car Because they have a big ass engine and Also well big and heavy engine and also Gearbox in the front Whereas EV The motor is way smaller and you usually Have a battery somewhere centralized in The car so you can then shift the weight The way you prefer it that's what I've Seen over and over again when I test Front window cars like Kia iniro from it Live they purposely made it slightly Front heavy so that you have slightly Better ground pressure on the front Wheels for grip right but then for Example ionic a classic ionic I think That one is not that much front heavy as You would like it to be so many Norwegians they complain that it has Poor poor or not optimal grip in Winter Conditions

So but then we should make the cars from A rear wheel drive instead because Um The EVS they don't have to have a big Heavy engine placed in the front they Can they can have a way smaller compact Motor electric motor in the back for Example So and then why should you make river Drop but the River Drive gives you poor Uh drip right I mean we've seen it in The classic Mercedes and BMV they just Sleep in the in Winter and you have to Toss in Sandbags in the back wall no but when I Also test well that guy's hammering when I also test the weight on rear wheel Drive cars I will see that the car Manufacturers they purposely make them Slightly tail heavy So that you get better grip in the back Wheels rather than the front wheel right And what else is it Um Yeah and then and also electric cars They tend to have lots of torque And when you have front wheel drive cars Some cars with lots of power and torque You will feel the torques there And then when you have the acceleration In the way you have power in the rear It's better you split it front wheels Steer rear wheel put the power down Right

And also because electric motors they Have instant torque they can easily Control the the power in a sleepy Situation so that's why I mean that River Drive is the way to go or All-wheel drive yeah there is no reason For for electric cars to be Front-wheel drive as long as you design Them well yeah the cars that are front Wheel drive electric cars they just took A shortcut they took an existing fossil Platform and made it electric oh yeah And you see and this is one of the Advantages because suddenly now in this One we have 299 horsepower 228 kilowatt I don't remember how it was with the old One but it had less power but they could Probably put 300 horsepower on the front Wheel and lots of torque but you will Get torques there you know the car will Be almost undriable unless you don't use All the torque of course But uh yeah the way it is now way way Better it just it just drives so fast it Runs You know when I picked it up I didn't Pay attention I thought oh I was Normally when I request the pole star Too I would get the dual motor And then when I started driving this one And I would try to hammer a little bit I Was like It's not that fast hmm strange maybe the Battery is cold because I was expecting

It to be a doom do a motor right well it Turns out it was a single motor and I Was like oh damn okay I mean it's it's Quite quick for a single motor that's What I am I also measured when I tested It acceleration test you know this Poster too But just co200 in roughly six seconds It's actually 0.2 seconds fast and spec And it is actually faster than money All-wheel drive cars like id4 GTX id5 GTX score the enyok of I don't remember Maybe also the Uh the Mach e but I was like what the Heck man this car this rear wheel drive Puts money all-wheel drive cars to shame Yeah and it's also it's also faster it's Half a second faster uh co200 Um than the BMV ix3 which is also rear Wheel drive because this one has a Little bit more power and there's always A little bit lighter so yeah in my Opinion uh Around six seconds is I mean it's for me It was a steep Speed Demon It's it's sufficient yeah I wouldn't Complain that it's slow because when I Tried mab cars with only 200 horsepower And maybe the torque is a little bit Lower and the whole Like the way they limit the power if You're trying to if it's close to Slipping it's it's not that fun to drive Here you can I mean you you could feel

The you can feel the punch right yeah It's It's so much fun man that's what I'm Saying it's you know this is the real Pole star you know Volvo Volvo post that Pole star is like the mbmvm it's like The the AMG right Uh or was again RS yeah Audi RS like the Pole so it's like the the sporty version Of the Volvo And previously it's like what front Wheel drive but now They just put the poster name to it to What it's supposed to be okay I'll talk A lot about that from reliable okay but Anyway Um almost there though seems to be more Or less the same they haven't changed That one Because now okay when I'm driving not so Fast It tends to behave better but when I go Faster Um well in the slight slight curve like This it will tend to hug the inner side And I will try to demonstrate it will Try to be like this you know go like This which is a little bit cringy Yeah And then the other side it will go more Like that and then sometimes if the Curve is sharper Um you enter the curve let's say yeah Now you see that you have a slight left Curve

If it's sharper you enter the curve and Then it doesn't turn when it should it Doesn't start gently turning the the Wheel like it should and then it realize That oh should I said we need to Turn harder and then it turns harder Okay I'm just overdoing it but yeah so Autos there seems to be more or less the Same as before yeah okay let me just get Over here And also when it comes to noise you can Probably hear it that We are just doing around 80 kilometers Per hour and you can still hear some Noise so we have 20 inch Continental Um I think it was Premium Contact And the noise level seems to be more or Less the same I also measured that there Wasn't that big let me show you here They are fresh asphalt Oh that is better so yeah in countries With smooth and good asphalt like in Belgium this is what you're gonna expect I'm just kidding but Um okay Netherlands I meant Netherlands Yeah always mix up Midlands Netherlands And Belgium but yeah so this is usually Belgium No no it's like the Africa It's like this Oh you're driving and you're driving in Netherlands And then you arrive in Belgium Okay okay let's get away I'm gonna try

This suspension also but but they try I Mean they've managed to make it fairly Light despite having 82 kilowatt hour Battery okay it's not as light as Tesla But somehow the suspension Money should mask out the weight it just It just still rides like a go-kart it's So fun to drive it's sporty you know it Has that it has that sporty feel over it The sporty yeah I don't know what to do You know what I mean right but when you Go with some of the bumps It doesn't kill your spine like a Tesla Well until Highland is out but but yeah it it has That still that that comfortable ride And like oh and you can't get there with That floor right there you see when I There's a typical yeah typical scenario Where you get out you get in the curb on Your floor it and then there's not no Grip and then I felt like the traction Control kicked in you can turn it off Um not sure sport mode you can turn on Sport mode what's gonna happen then Is it will it be more uh playful Yeah I had to do this of course this Scares the heck other people you're not Doing okay okay there's an oncoming Usually I would be out a little bit Later but I don't want to be out the two At night like I tend to do before I'm a Daddy now you know but yeah um it it Handles quite well yeah let me turn off

Like it or if if your grandma you turn Off sport mode and then let's see what Happens then when you go around here Yeah then it feels like it's limited a Little bit but still well actually even Within sport mode off it's still pretty Good So yeah Um what else is it yeah I need to mention it range wise okay Um They have supposedly made the the Drivetrain more efficient but I feel Like when I tested this Raven Drive it Wasn't that much more efficient than the Front wheel drive but I noticed that the Front wheel drive was significantly more Efficient than the the previous All-wheel drive because the overdrive Previously supposedly they had two Permanent magnet motors and the front And the rear were constantly on and Typically that is inefficient just like In in eyepiece you know and other cars With permanent Overdrive But more sophisticated cars like Tesla They will then have a mix and that's What the new one here is all about they Have a mix of permanent magnet motor in The Rack in this case my pulsar and then Induction motor in the front and what They're gonna do is that they the Induction motor can turn completely off Without any resistance and by doing that

You save energy yeah like Tesla's been Doing for Six seven Eight years now but but a lot of time I Say this I've done the same many other Requirements manufacturers also do the Same they mix induction motor and Permanent magnet motor another way of Doing it is use 2PM Motors and then have Um they call it like a dumb clutch or Whatever it's not really a clutch but It's the environment it's it's like a Thing that can decouple the motor from The the axle So that's also a way to do it but at Least what I was about to say is that This River Drive because The front wheel drive was already fairly Efficient or I would say not that Inefficient yeah Um then there wasn't that big of a Difference but I think the difference Would be greater in the overdrive if I Get the chance to test it if you guys Are for it just shout out comment about It Bugged me and I will grab one but um let Me see let me go over here yeah drive a Little bit maybe I should try to find Different Rhythm just driving around and You guys will feel how the car handles Also around the curves and so Um But yeah so at least that part no and at

Least the pole star says that they Haven't improved the aerodynamics the Front looks a little bit Slicker but the Rest of the car isn't you know you have To go deeper you have to smooth and Everything you have to remove some of The edges here and there around the side Or whatever we call um maybe some Some of the fog lights or whatever in The front needs to smooth not more right So so that's why I figured out that the Range has improved mainly because the Battery has grown bigger I measured 4.7 Kilowatt or more we have actually 79.1 kilowatt hour net capacity after Losses when you actually drive the car So that's pretty good that's on par with Many other cars in actually some even Slightly better than for example the mbb Cars I measure only 75 kilowatt hour and Those after losses you know not whatever State whatever it is written in the Brochure and BMV has around 79 80 Kilowatt hour you know the I4 uh Tesla Is 82 kilowatt hour but you can get Roughly 84 85 kilowatt hour from it so Yeah so range I mean it's good but not Outstandingly good because the Efficiency is not that like A top-notch Um but uh but they're still pretty good I did also the Thunder driving and yeah It wasn't like it was actually almost 100 kilometer lower range than for

Example I4 Probably because the I4 yeah but the IPhone 4 was more efficient so iPhone is Incredibly efficient for you for being a Big fat heavy car yeah So oh man oh yeah yeah oh This is so much fun So yeah now now yeah in that situation When I floor it then almost nothing Happened yeah yeah then we have to turn On sport mode okay Yeah okay so But but Um I mean it's still nice but the Biggest Improvement here is the joint Speed They charge us way faster you can Actually maintain 205 kilowatt until 16 17 but then it doesn't just plummet like A Tesla it can actually maintain a nice And flat curve and I I measure that the Charting curve in this Pole star is flatter than the BMV I4 at Least until around 70 something like That so that is impressive man like it Was only only 150 a kilowatt but now it Is class leading oh I mean it's right on Top there with BMV Mercedes Okay no Tesla but actually it depends How far you charge but it can even much Or be Tesla Yeah and also when it comes to 1000 Kilometer challenge I measured um

Yeah it was actually one hour faster but Okay I mean take it with a pinch of salt Because the the previous test was with a Pulse or two PP and it was in winter but I would say that at least it would be at Least half an hour to 45 minutes faster Now versus before so that is a big Upgrade mainly because we now have Faster charging and also a little bit More energy and maybe a little bit more Efficient drivetrain so I think Um I think Paul Stock did a lot of the Important upgrades I seen other cars Make some upgrades maybe like in the Interior they have slightly nicer Material it's not like it was very Volkswagen had it a little bit different Front but the car didn't charge faster It wasn't more efficient it didn't have A bigger battery right But this one seems like pole star they Focus on what what was important You know and and before even the Previous one 150 kilowatt before was Okay but Um Compared to some of the other ones was About Tesla it wasn't that great so Previously when it comes to charging and Travel speed and 1000 kilometer time It was it was still okay you know but Now suddenly it's Top Notch no not top But not the best but it's really in the

Upper upper there like the top ten right So yeah Um what else should I say about the pole Star Um other than that okay now there must Be some complaint yes there are some Complaints here What the heck is this man what is this I mean I'm just a small Asian but I Can imagine if you're a big uh black guy I'm just kidding no no racist but if You're a big big white guy for example Yeah no that's also racist If you're a big guy yeah Um then this one this thing might be in The way you know and also your knee will Be bumping into the steering thing here Also so The the front is a bit cramped in my Opinion if you tried Of many other cars uh Tesla or some of The mbb cars maybe or I don't remember Some of the Chinese guys don't remember On top of my head but many other cars Especially pure EV platform uh some of The Korean cars also they have way Better space here so you don't feel too Cramped but of course I don't know There's going to be some people I I Would opposed or if you're the lucky Videos but I I own the poles are now no Problems I'm 185 centimeters tall yeah Okay that's fine but okay this is just My opinion right then yeah

Um yeah they haven't really done that Much Yeah they haven't they it's not night And day there's a thing they they Improved what was important yeah that's Fine but in here everything looks and Feels more or less like before sound Proofing same you know headlights the Same yeah they are still awesome you Know they don't get me wrong they're Still awesome But that's the recycling place yeah We're not going to recycle the car yet So yeah I mean but just think about this Not only did they improve the stuff There but if you look here there's some Yeah there are plenty of apps here You're the range assistant okay you have AccuWeather we have car fireplace oh What the heck okay You want to get it on right yep easy Park up you have about the root planner You have YouTube app now you have Vivaldi browser you have Spotify the SoundCloud now what they're just adding More and more apps here right and you Can also move I think you can move this One over to that okay you can't do that One driver okay but they're adding more And more apps and some of these apps Doesn't even exist in many other cars Because you say I have a Spotify we Already have Spotify in my car yeah do You have a easy Park app in your car huh

You know do you have a car fireplace huh No okay And so they keep there's always this Performance there's like a there's like A G-Force meter oh I want to see my G-spot where the heck is it yeah so let Me see I have to test that one okay Wait wait how much G was that let me Break 0.5 G okay 0.5 G is actually oh Nice nice okay yeah but you see they Keep adding apps here that's good I've Seen some cars but oh there's supposed To be some apps and then two years later Well where are the apps who knows so They keep adding stuff here that's good They keep updating the car you know and It's like they have Google here Uh and also by the way recently or Before when I tested pole star it kept Giving me a bad estimation all the time Uh it was being too optimistic so when When I navigated somewhere it would say Oh you will arrive with the 30 oh plenty Okay okay no problem then and then I Arrived with five percent right it kept Doing that all the time before So I was a little bit fooled by it so When I did 1 000 kilometer challenge Recently I was expecting it to be Optimistic so I charged more than I Needed and I kept arriving with 15 or Something like that so it must mean that Um they have updated it and they have Figured out upgraded it so that the the

Estimated percent at arrival is now more Accurate some cars they never change Right there so Uh some car manufacturers I feel like They they almost don't do anything with The cars uh okay I mean uh I hope I Don't burn on the bridges here but for Example Mercedes eqc I remember when I Tested the first time okay it was nice And then when I tested it two years Later it was exactly the same they Haven't changed anything it was still Thirsty you know the infotainment still Had the same bugs they haven't upgraded Anything Yeah and the same for Jaguar i-pace Those at least the two cars I remember Like they just haven't done anything Right still still the same charges the Same still thirsty nothing faster Nothing new there you know no no mix of PM and induction motor and things like That ninja stuff no so Um yeah and then you have some cars Maybe they have just mining improvements Like I mentioned like some Volkswagen Uh money is coming now yeah I forgot They have a new motor now coming out so That's better yeah all it's good Um But then in the other end you have Tesla They just go like like they keep Changing all the time you know tiny Increments improving soundproofing

Improving this damp the the suspension Improving headlights improving the Interior but here it's still the same You know we still have only one charting Path here and the problem with this Joining pad is that when I have it there If it's slightly off At One Direction and it tends to slide Because it doesn't stage it's too smooth It's that the surface you can spill Ketchup on and then wipe it off easily Um Then it tends to slip off the the Charging area and then I get the Notification that charging is not Possible without it yeah so you see it Um They haven't improved that one But at least they improve what is Important yeah okay yeah so it's but but I still have to give kudos to pole star Because the first post or two I tested Was only three years ago so in three Years they have done lots of new Improvement new upgrades so that is nice Like you can look at other brands or Models and they might not have done much Improvement a lot let me go this way at All in two years yeah so let me see it's A sport mode on now or let me see That no it's off okay Oh I don't know where where you live and All that but I think

For most people in Europe Especially belgian's You you could probably buy the Raven Drive and no problem maybe just Norwegian Norwegians they just want Overdrive for some reason yeah because They would live in Viking Land but I Think for most people okay I felt like Them The front wheel drive was too slow too Sluggish And yeah not enough power for power to The front wheel But with the overdrive it's so much fun To drive It feels similar to the model 3 Raven Drive the old one with more power Um yeah actually now it's similar to the Current one but but I think this is good Enough for most people if you don't need All that grip and all that power then Just go for the regular it's cheaper It's lighter which would be also yeah More efficient And what else is it yeah But of course if you oh I forgot I can't Use that bustling because I don't have a Passenger well I have you guys as a Passenger So yeah so it's man it's oh it's so much Fun to drive that's I I keep saying that Sorry I keep I have to repeat myself but That's that's my impression after Driving all this time

And now that it charges faster I don't Have to worry about that oh no I can't Hammer it I can't drive too fast because It will empty out the battery don't Worry man 200 kilowatt 205 sorry 205 Kilowatt charging power yeah see does it Have the whole heel hole Yeah Yeah of Course yeah so Um but um yeah when it comes to the Trunk area and all that Um I also tested that one I had some Child seat stuff in here And it's um Well I'm gonna go over here So it's a bit cramped when I try to put Child seat it fits okay it has the the Nice easy fix base lids and all that but But the trunk is a little bit cramped so I mean I can get the the Cybex in there But Um just have to squeeze it in a bit so Yeah but okay Um That means that you can go on a local Trip but if you go on a long trip you Might find yourself with limited trunk Space Yeah But but it's a it's a okay it's a fun Car to drive it looks stunning it has Awesome headlights uh I think also the Price should be fairly okay it depends On which country you live in but one Thing I need to point out is that this

Car has the leather seats perforated Leather seat with ventilation and it's Wonderful I think I even have it on one Right now let me see Yeah I have the ventilation one and it's Not that noisy some cars like a Tesla is Really noisy when you have it on three At least but here I can even have it on Three and You shouldn't be able to hear it But Yeah and what I was saying is that these Leather seats are great Yeah okay wait I'll send it back to one Um because you get that extra Ventilation or that you don't get that Sweaty even if you don't have the Ventilation on you don't get that sweaty The the standard seats in the Pulsar too There's something about that fabric that I don't know if what the heck is in some Kind of recycled stuff for the black Thing that it insulates so well that you Get sweaty and it wasn't just one time It happened many many times every time I Tried the pole star I was like oh I Got sweaty I wasn't I wasn't wearing This one I wouldn't even wear a T-shirt And I would still get sweaty so Um Yeah but this one is better but it's Also a lot more expensive you want to go For the leather seat but if you're Considering it uh if you tend to get

Cars powered by electricity make driving around town a lot less stressful. Instant acceleration and pin-sharp handling mean you can zip through traffic a lot faster than in an internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle. And you can drive far longer on a single charge – with most models allowing you to recharge to 80% of capacity in just 30 minutes.

As EVs become more mainstream, car makers are adding more EV options to their lineups. That includes a range of small and medium-size electric vehicles that are ideal for navigating urban traffic. Some of these EVs have sleek designs, while others feature practical interiors that can seat five people and plenty of storage space.

Some of the newest EVs on the market can be used as battery-powered mobile power stations, enabling drivers to use their vehicles to store renewable energy on the grid. For example, Pacific Gas & Electric is working on technology called vehicle-to-grid, which would allow electric cars to take on excess solar and wind production during off-peak hours and return it to the grid when demand surges at peak times.

The EV movement has already created new opportunities for some of America’s most traditional automakers, with Ford and GM both announcing plans to expand their offerings of plug-in vehicles in the coming years. As a result, dealerships are changing how they operate to accommodate the arrival of these new models. For example, some dealers are offering Low Speed Vehicles (LSVs) for rent, which can travel on US streets and highways with speeds up to 25 mph (40 km/h). The rental vehicles meet a strict set of abbreviated safety requirements and have a lower maintenance cost than their larger ICE counterparts.
